My house is in a nice village of Panglao near the plaza and within walking distance to the market. La Familia Restaurant and a laundry service are nearby. I have Wi-Fi in the house and hot & cold shower. My place is 8 minutes by tricycle to Alona Beach and 4 minutes to the quiet Doljo Beach. Sorry, I no longer live here and have listed my four rooms for rent. I have 2 dogs in the premises.

The space

First, I have 2 dogs (a German Shepherd, and a Japanese Spitz mix). Please note that the price indicated on this site is for each bedroom for two persons. Bathroom is shared by two rooms. WE NOW HAVE HOT SHOWER. Sorry no kitchen on this floor but there is a refrigerator, microwave and toaster. Please also read "The Neighborhood" section on this page to familiarize yourself of my place. There is a nice restaurant called La Familia in front of the church/plaza one-minute walk from the house. Laundy service is near there as well.
DIRECTION FROM TAGBILARAN CITY PORTS:
From Tagbilaran City either coming from the airport or seaport, you can take a tricycle (300 pesos) or a taxi (500 pesos) to Poblacion Panglao where my house is. Tell the driver to take you to Casa Ligaya next to Sentorias Hardware. If you are traveling alone you can also take a habal-habal motorcycle for 150 pesos. Should you wish to take a public bus (bus fare is 20 pesos per person but very crowded). To get to the bus terminal from either airpot or seaport, you have to take a tricycle and tell the driver to take you to the Panglao bus terminal near Shopper's Market. There is no fixed schedule for the buses. They leave as soon as they are full. Good luck!

Guest access

A key is provided for your bedroom, another key for the main door and another key for the padlock on the gate. Please make sure you close the gate behind you and keep the padlock locked at all times.

Also, the washing machine is complicated to use as it is not automatic and it is for my personal use only.

Interaction with guests

I like to interact with the guests and answer questions they may have about points of interests in the area. I can also help you arrange with affordable tours you might want to take. If you have any questions you may text me on my local number or email me through AirBnB as I am mostly not at the house.

Other things to note

If you are a soccer fan and would like to join the game, you can do so every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons starting at 4:30 PM. The plaza is also a great place for running, jogging or a game of badminton. The road outside my house is a great place for runners, just go out the gate go right (heading towards Tagbilaran).

It's a nice place to stay with a good relation quality/price. If you think to staying in panglao it's necessary to rent a bike because everything it's really far to do it walking (and I love to walk). The place is located in a quiet and nice area, go to eat to "La Familia", they are great. The host is lovely and always looking for helping you in everything you need. Enjoy Bohol!

We had a great stay at Joy's place! It's very quiet and peaceful. We were able to rent out her motorbike to drive to Alona beach about 5-8 minutes away as well as did a trip to the chocolate hills. Her dogs are so friendly though be careful when opening the gate because one of them likes to try to escape! It was pretty easy to find but I would suggest telling the taxi/tricycle driver that it's near the 7-11 in Panglao. It's a more recognizable landmark. There are a few shops and a decently cheap restaurant within walking distance. It's rustic, but we loved unwinding here!

Me and friend of mine stayed in Joy's house for almost a week , house is really nice and clean for the price. Outside she got two comfy hammocks and adorable dogs. Also Joy organized a new , nice motorbike for us for a good price. There is like 10 mins to alona beach by public transport. Also around the corner , couple of shops , laundry and bakery. Highly recommend !!! Thank You Joy for being awesome landlord for us ❤️

Joy's place is tucked in a little corner of Panglao and it's perfect for those who want to stay away from the noisy beach front hotels and still get around to the beaches. The blankets were a little thin for us but not much of a bother. Our place was clean and secures and we didn't have a hard time getting some peace and quiet. Beau and Steffi (the resident dogs) were a bonus. Overall would recommend to fellow travelers and would definitely stay again.

The place was exactly as described. We only saw Joy during check-in but she was easy to reach by text message and always responded very quickly. We wanted to do a day tour while we were there which Joy kindly organized for us. This is a decent budget accommodation for the price.

Thank you for checking out my place. I hope you will choose to stay here so I get a chance to meet you. I love meeting people from all corners of the world as I have traveled extensively myself in North America and a few countries in South America for 18 years as a photography assistant and travel coordinator. I am now based in the laid-back island of Panglao in Bohol where you can spend the days snorkeling, diving, swimming, paddling and much more and at night relax at the bars at the beach. Being a nature lover does not mean I don't enjoy the night life. Some of the few places that my friends and I like to hang out are Wok Bar (Music Quiz on Friday nights and Beer Pong on Saturday Nights) and Pinarella Bar to dance. So, come, visit and join us take in what this paradise has to offer. See you soon!
