House Rules

Given the Historic nature of the property and the large amount of antiquities located on the property we hope that you will cherish and treat the home with respect to its heritage but make yourself at home. We have a full time private renter located on the property as well as groundskeepers who come and go from the property daily to monitor for unusual activity for your safety and ours. Our home is protected by ADT. The information binder for the ins and outs, emergency procedures and phone numbers is located in the kitchen for your convenience

We are child/infant friendly in that you may bring children to stay, we do not have special equipment available on site, that would be the responsibility of the renter but we certainly welcome families of all shapes and sizes however we are not a child proof home but can gladly assist in making any arrangements needed to make your stay more child friendly

Parties/Events allowed with prior approval from Host, additional fees may apply

Absolutely no smoking in our home due to the Historic nature and need for continued preservation of it, you may smoke outside away from any flammable materials and dispose of ash and butts properly

We also have a strict no pet policy due to the historic nature of the property and preservation of the antiquities

The Forest Retreat met all our expectations and more. The place was perfect for our group of six international guests from China. The 200 year old residence felt like we were staying in a museum with all the artifacts displayed around the house. The kitchen was our gathering space and was perfect for cooking, eating and socializing for our group. The views from the hilltop property were some of the best I have seen anywhere. A perfect location if you are interested in exploring all the unique small towns, farms and around Lexington and the beautiful Bluegrass countryside makes the commute into Keeneland for the sales or races or other spots in Lexington very enjoyable. You won't be disappointed - just hoping too many people don't find out about this special place.
