Fully equipped Provencal villa in large garden with large (15 x 8m) shared - but quiet - pool. In Luberon National Park. Easy access to shops, horse riding, cycling, hiking, climbing, golf and Provencal markets, villages, wineries, restaurants.
Our house is surrounded on all four sides by its own treed garden (800m2). It is recently built (2005), spacious (115m2) and enjoys a south-facing aspect via French windows from the sitting room and master bedroom to a shaded patio which is ideal for outdoor dining and relaxation. The large living area is tastefully but comfortably furnished and has a high, beamed ceiling. We provide sunloungers, outdoor table and chairs, gas "Plancha" barbecue. Inside you will have a large flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, DVD. There is a high specification kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, oven, ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, microwave) with a breakfast bar. Three bedrooms comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests: the master bedroom has an en suite bath, shower and WC. The second bathroom has shower and WC. There is a third WC in the cloakroom. Whether you want to explore Haute-Provence or just relax at home, you will not be disappointed. Village/shops 5 minutes by car. Large town with hypermarkets 10 minutes.
Some of the highlights of the surrounding area - all within an hour's drive - are the Gorge du Verdon, Lac de Sainte Croix, many "villages perchees" including the reknowned Menerbes and Roussillon. The local village Pierrevert is the most recent area to receive an Appellation Controllee status for its wine. There are many top quality vinyards in the area, many quaint local restaurants and high class Michelin starred dining too.
There is a fine 18 hole golf course just up the road, with an excellent restaurant worth a visit for the food and the view - even for non-golfers!
The only parts of the house which are "off-limits" are the garage and 2 cupboards. We use these to store our own stuff.
Interaction with guests
Our good friends and neighbours Jean-Marie and Margot Desmettre (French and English speaking) will welcome you, show you round the house and give you any local guidance and advice you need.
1. We love our house and hope to keep it in the best possible condition. So of course we ask you to leave it as you found it, very clean and tidy. Tiled floors throughout make that easy.
2. The Luberon is a conservation area so we would ask you to economize on your use of water.
3. its important to avoid putting oil or grease down the sink and putting anything other than toilet paper down the toilet.
4. In the interests of all our guests, we don't allow any pets or any smoking in the house.
5. We ask that people who are not booked into the house are not given accommodation there by you or access to showers, toilets etc (eg friends in a camper van!)
Rules are to ensure everyone's enjoyment of this wonderful facility! Please respect them.
