Bottom line, this place is much nicer than a hotel for similar price. Full bedroom with nice ensuite bath that has been updated and is very nice, plus sitting area upstairs with kitchenette and large outdoor deck with chaise lounges makes this very comfortable and private and nice for kicking back after work. And the kitchenette is nicely equipped for what you would use it for, and is modern and clean looking. You could never find that kind of space in a hotel, thus why I love AirBnB.
That said, there are some negatives to this unit. Primarily that revolves around the dated, cheap and in some cases a little shabby furniture. The mattress is very firm and not a pillowtop, so it is uncomfortable compared typical hotel mattress. The upstairs loveseat is an old futon that is starting to show it's age...comfortable enough though. But the televisions...the upstairs, while a flatscreen, is pretty old and must be 720p resolution because it's not that sharp. And the bedroom TV is, as the pictures show, an ancient tube-type TV with a digital converter box on the top...which is pretty lame in this day and age. Finally, I had fairly major issues with the Wifi speed. Given the previous comments about the wifi, I do not believe this was isolated to my devices, particularly as I have had no trouble with wifi speeds elsewhere. I used the Speedtest app on my ipad and quite a few times registered the download speed as UNDER 1 mbps (0.36 to be exact). When it was faster, i only registered as high as 7 mbps. That was not a killer for me, but it was somewhat inconvenient and something silicon valley business travelers need to know about. Also, there is no AC, so I would NOT recommend this place when it is going to be hot...was just fine for me when evening temps were in 70's as it has multiple nice ceiling fans...but would not be fun if it were in upper 80's-90's
But even with all that said, the photos are accurate and the outside deck is super nice with comfortable lounge chairs, and it is private enough with a solid wall under the railing so you can't really see the backyard of the host house when sitting down, and with the large pine tree shading it the deck is very peaceful.
