Self Check-In/Communication was absolutely seamless. Lennox and Lauren were excellent communicators and left us messages regarding self check-in. Our flight was delayed for about half an hour, but they kept the communication open (during the night) to ensure that we were able to get in, without any glitches. Upon arrival, we were hit with the most amazing feeling – air conditioning. It was extremely warm (90s) that evening, so that welcoming touch was a godsend. As we flocked to the a/c units, we admired the huge welcome note drawn on the chalkboard wall. There was also information regarding wifi connection, and recommended events in the area. It really brought smiles to our faces. We found a binder with a lot of information regarding the neighborhood, events/festivals tabbed by the month, maps, recommendation for restaurants… if you didn’t do a lot of planning for your stay/vacation and are looking for recommendations, this is a great guide to use. Additionally, there are many books about Chicago tourism and foods on the living room table. They also went above and beyond brought in a new water filter set for us to have a supply of cold water. Space & Location: The home is modern with unique art pieces. There is also a workstation/desk with different adult coloring books, if you’re looking to spend some time expressing your creative side. There’s also plenty of colorful chalk for you to use. if you’re up for creating a mural on the chalkboard wall. The space can accommodate 5 people, without it feeling cramped (2 in each bedroom, 1 on couch… maybe even an inflatable bed in the dining room). In the living room, you’ll find a smart tv, extra pillows and plush blankets tucked in baskets, and a good selection of fun board games. The bathroom is stocked with extra toiletries you’ll need for your stay. Don’t worry if you forget anything. (Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, flat iron, towels for hand, face, body). The water pressure was good, and there was more than enough hot water for two very long showers, in a row. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishware, drinkware, flatware, small pots and frying pans for light cooking, kitchen utensils, and serving utensils. (Yay for pizza cutters for deep dish pizzas.) There is a closet with many hangers, and a pantry closet stocked with cleaning supplies, an iron and board, microwave, an extra shopping tote (Chicago has a bag fee), and other things that you might need during your stay. Getting Around/ Transportation: Although there’s a highway a couple of blocks away, it’s a very quiet suburban-like neighborhood. The Blue Line “L” train from O’Hare Airport (Terminal 2 Station) connects to Belmont Station (a 30-35 minute ride that leaves you only 2.5 blocks away from the apartment). If you only have carryon items, I suggest this option (<$5). A metered taxi/cab from the airport will also take about 40 minutes but cost around ~$40-$45 on at 10:30 on a Thursday evening....

Lennox & Lauren provided a beautiful home that had everything we needed plus more. Our Chicago experience was greatly enhanced by having such a lovely place to stay. It surpassed my expectations. They were available and quick to communicate with any questions we had during our stay.

Lennox and Lauren were very helpful, when we asked to check in early they did their best to accommodate this and also left nice touches in the apartment such as cookies and a welcome message. The place is close to public transport and it's easy to get around.

By far the best communication that I've experienced on Airbnb. Lennox & Lauren hosted me VERY last minute as I needed a relatively early morning check-in and they had just had a party leave. I came off of a last minute red-eye flight and the degree to which I appreciated being able to rest and prep before a heavy afternoon of work is indescribable. As other reviewers mentioned, the chalk greeting is just so charming and welcoming... I loved it. They really went out of their way with small details, my favorite being an antique iron on a wooden table and the juxtaposition of a contemporary sofa and modern artwork. I'd totally stay again. A lot of space, a lot of charm.

I had lived in several places and this is my favorite by far. The neighborhood is quiet. The rooms are very clean and well decorated, Lennox and Lauren are nice host. I will definitely book the apartment again next time I visit Chicago.

Lennox & Lauren User ProfileLennox & Lauren is a superhost.

As of June 2017, we'll be what I call veteran Airbnb hosts with roughly 5 years experience. Over that time we've hosted 100's of guests and made many friends along the way. From a lovely Japanese family whose grandfather read the paper on our front porch every morning to a corporate manager of Shake Shack who stayed with us for a grand opening of a new location. During that time our most important lesson would be... The small things matter - attention to detail means everything. We'd love the chance to host you!
