We’ve stayed at over a dozens Airbnb’s, but unfortunately this was a miss for us... First, the positives — Private and secluded for peace & quiet. Large property that our kids enjoyed exploring. Close to plenty of great hiking & an easy drive to New Paltz. The sun room, which seems like a relatively new addition, is nice & bright & clean. Now, the negatives — The biggest one was the tap water which smelled like sulfur/rotten eggs every time we turned on the water. This made for extremely unpleasant showering and cooking. Monique said it doesn’t happen all the time, but unfortunately it occurred the entire time of our stay. Unclean bathroom upon arrival - mold/mildew, hairs & dirty sponge in sink & brown spots on the wall next to the toilet. Lot of cobwebs & dead bugs. Cobwebs on almost every lamp, a large portion of the living room ceiling, hanging pots & pans & hanging wine glasses. Various lights out around the house including the bathroom mirror and the main light in the living room. Unclean linens and pillows covered with hairs. Musty smells throughout. I feel like with a good cleaning, airing the place out a bit, & fixing the smell of the well water, this would make for a pleasant stay. But unfortunately with our experience we cannot say that we would return.

We spent a few nights here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. A beautiful place and a quaint cottage that was totally private. My only hope is that the linens and refrigerator were a bit cleaner, but otherwise a great and wonderful stay.

Monique's cottage is a wonderful retreat in the woods. Her home is charming, warm, inviting, and incredibly comfortable. She has supplied everything one would need during their stay and the home envelopes you in a way that supports the beauty of recharging and resting. We hope to stay here again and again.

My husband, two pups and I went up for two nights for some R&R. Monique's home is in a picturesque location and its close to beautiful hikes and fun towns. It delivered on peace and quiet which is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Monique's home was a special hidden retreat. Each room was lovely and sweet. The land around the cottage is also beautiful. I would love to stay here again! Monique was a friendly, accommodating host. I highly recommend this gem.

The land was so beautiful! I think it was much nicer in person than in the pictures. Monique was a very attentive host, and everything was as expected and as described. We had a very nice stay.

Monique's place is a gem. I spent a few quiet and relaxing days with my dog. The house is secluded and quiet, beds were very comfortable and I spent a lot of time in the sun room as I had to spend some time on my computer for work. All you hear is the stream and birds. It's super close to Sam's Point for the most amazing views and great hiking. And it's also just a 5 minute drive to Ellenville for restaurants and shops. Monique was very responsive when I reached out to her. Highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again. Thanks, Monique!

My husband and I have worked in the theater for many years and when we're free, we love to spend time on the family farm in Maine or at our Catskill hideaway near New York City. We garden, hike, swim and canoe . Sourcing the local produce, seafood and meats, we love to cook an…
