well I arrived a bit later due to Roberto's policy of flexible check out, was welcomed by Petra , a very sympathetic girl, although my mobile phone did not function that well, due to roaming problems and we both did not receive any messages but everything went well, so the room was spacious and basic, but overall it was ok, it was central to the city and with the Mersey Travel Walrus card which can obtained in a lot of shops and the bus stop present , transport was very easy, also the presence of a supermarket (open 24 hours) was a real plus. So enjoined my stay in Liverpool very much , and as a Beatle fan and the nice weather I had a very pleasant stay there.
Roberto comes across as a charming man and indeed I believe he is. He went out of his way to accommodate my check-in time needs and left his office to let me in. However the accommodation he has on offer is not as nice as he is. It is fair to say that it may not be all through his fault. The room is a room in a house in multiple occupation where there are nine bedrooms, one kitchen and three bathrooms. It is a fabulous Victorian property with breathtaking views from the kitchen and the top bathroom windows. the room in itself is very spacious and on the top floor which is great. It is unfortunate that it faces a brick wall and the bedroom window of the next door property. You could almost shake hands with your neighbours through the two windows facing each other. The picture currently on the ad it is not the picture of the same bedroom where I stayed. The mattress is one of those that will leave you a ring pattern on your ribs mirroring the pattern of the springs. I also had to move it on the floor because the bed was sitting on was damaged and its surface, to say the less, was uneven. Being a house in multiple occupation, by law most of the internal doors have to be heavy fire doors fitted with a self closing mechanism. This means that, if the job is done cheaply, they do creek and bang every single time someone goes through them. The kitchen was absolutely filthy. Not a square inch of the worktop space where one could rest his food without it being getting stuck on whatever was covering the surfaces. The level of grease on the kitchen and inside the ovens is beyond my description skills. I could not find one clean plate nor one clean glass, nor one clean mug nor one clean piece of cutlery. Most of the kitchen space was covered with dirty kitchenware and left over food. In the five days I spent there nobody seemed to care about removing the rubbish bags which were just piling up inside the kitchen taking more and more floor space not to mention obvious hygiene consequences. The bathroom I used between the second and the top floor was acceptable except for an un-lined bin overflowing with waste including used female sanitary pads. There was one toilet paper roll on my arrival. By the end of my stay there was not one piece of toilet paper in any of the three bathrooms of the house. The worse part however was the lack of human warmth to the place. Yes I did come across two people during my stay, we had very brief exchanges and they were rather friendly. However this house is a house and it is not a home. It feels like nobody's place. It is a place where everyone tends to lock themselves into their bedrooms which are indeed...
