For those who have visited the other islands, Molokai is very different. Make sure to bring a book and relax. If you are looking for lots of things to do and tourist stops then Molokai is not the island for you. If you want to get away from everything and spend some time relaxing then Molokai is perfect. My wife and I were joking that it was a nice vacation from our vacation. Out stay here was sandwiched between 5 days in Maui and 5 days on the Big Island. The surrounding beaches are very nice and not crowded at all. Patrice had a couple of folding chairs and snorkel equipment. We did meet a monk seal at the beach just north of the pool area (a little past the surfers beach) and a herd of ~20 dear just south of the resort. As you walk around the surrounding area it appears there were much bigger plans for the area, some paths meandering around with markers for lots that never got developed.

We did not meet Patrice in person but communicated smoothly via email. The studios was accurately described with plenty of space and a nice view on the ocean. The house is on the west coast of Molokai which is very calm with very few people living there. The neighbourhood looks like an old resort with about half of the houses empty. The pool is nice and there is one little mini mart in the neighbourhood which opens from 9 to 5. For bigger shopping or gas station you need to drive to Kaunakakai, about half an hour drive. The beaches on the west coast are completely abandoned in the winter time. You have them all for yourself, although they are quite rough with few sand in the winter, which changes in the summer time as we learned. The surf on Kepuhi beach is great with the winter swells, we had some good waves for a couple of days. Surfboard rental is also in or on the way to Kaunakakai for around 25 usd per day.

Response from Patrice:
Yes Maik the West side of the island is very different from winter to summer. Especially this year with very big surf it draws out all the sand and then piles it all back in during summer. Very swimmmable in summer, only certain coves in the winter.

Patrice was always available by text, and her condo was perfect for our vacation. It had everything we needed (except a longer vacation!). The complex is very quiet, beautiful, and the waves were unbelievably gorgeous and gigantic. I would stay here next time I visit Molokai, except if prefer to stay much, much longer.

Patrice's place truly was a touch of paradise for us: it was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for our getaway from our busy lives. It felt like a home away from home to us. It was very quiet and peaceful with just the sound of the breaking waves and birds. Stunning views of the azure waters and whales were visible from the lanai as we ate our meals before and after our adventures hiking the beautiful, rough coastline and deserted beaches. Thank you Patrice! We absolutely recommend this wonderful place to anyone seeking a quiet, peaceful escape to paradise.

The condo was everything it was advertised to be, and the process was seamless from the time we were looking at places to all the way after our stay. It was clean, wonderfully and tastefully decorated, not to mention great tips and guides on what to do in Molokai, where to get supplies etc. The place is well furnished and we were able to cook complete meals for ourselves and eat looking out at the breathtaking waves (and in the winter time, whales!) from the lanai. Check in and check out was no problem. We're still beaming from our stay there - it was a magical home away from home for us. What a great host and a great place. Recommendations all around!

I live on the Central coast but nothing beats the Island of Molokai for moderate and mild temperatures and warm water. We love snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming and we do all the above on Molokai. We love to charter a fishing boat and listen to Hawaiian music, see some hula and hike.
We hope you like Molokai as much as we do, we have made our vacation home available to you, just as we would like it.
