I think Mo is the best host you could wish for, her hospitality is amazing! She provided lobster for us and also a delicious breakfast! Mo is such a nice and open minded person and I loved her travel stories. Her house is close to the harbor and really clean and cozy. I would definitely recommend Mo's place to everyone!

Thank you again for hosting us. Mo is a great host. We enjoy to discuss even it was a short stay. The landscape around is just splendid. Good continuation to you :)

My partner and I stayed at Mo's place for the weekend and had an amazing time. Mo immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable in her home. Her home is in a beautiful spot off the beaten track with a great panoramic view of the ocean. It's a short drive to Louisburg and Sydney. We've done a lot of Airbnb-ing and this was by far one of our favourite places we've been thanks to Mo's hospitality! Before we arrived, she was easy to reach to make plans to get there. Her home was clean and the room was all set up for us to be very comfortable.

I had a grand, though brief, visit to Main-Dieu. The house is old and characterful, and the room was very comfortable, with a great view of the harbour. Mo made me feel most welcome, and made sure I was comfortable, and presented the best breakfast. I'd recommend this to someone who'd like to take in some of the rustic charm and natural grandeur of the remote east coast. Well it is not that remote, I suppose, but it felt like I was away from the busy world.

Thanks for your generous review and great feedback! I like your descriptive words - "rustic charm" and "natural grandeur". As a fishing village along the Marconi Trail, it is a little remote, but it does offer R & R. Thanks again for your kind offer to plane the top of the kitchen door to the porch - it now opens and closes smoothly.

I've retired and relocated from an urban west coast condo to the house where I was raised. My parents built this house seventy years ago and now I'm creating a home base for future travels. An active home exchanger for more than ten years, I thought I'd try this site to share the experience of a rural east coast lifestyle and help fund repairs to my humble abode.

It's been a big change and at times a challenge, but I can live in a rural or urban space, however I'm at my absolute happiest when I can blend the best of both! I need to live near waves so that's covered! There's a beautiful beach down the road and awesome surf waves are a two hour drive away in Point Michaud.

About my beloved house:

It's clean and comfortable. There are new windows and doors with deadbolt locks. The new front deck with a wrap-around - no steps - glass railing is an awesome place to unwind. Since the house is in a rural area, there's a gravity-fed well on top of the hill and an septic system so "cottage rules" apply (conserve water). There are local laundry facilities.

"Create a life you imagine" is the mindful intent that inspires me to share my space. I'm still trying to "figure" it out in regards to "home base" and "travel/ live" around the world. I invite you to join me on this journey!
