The space
An almost entirely open plan house with a vast master bedroom upstairs and a bunk room downstairs, the house sleeps up to six, with an internal room (with a door!) just off the living room.
The modern kitchen flows into the dining area, which seats 6, and then opens onto the comfortable living area, with wood fire and a plasma TV. The front deck also seats 6 and is nestled in the secrecy of the large established garden ringing the house. The upper deck has a cosy table for two overlooking views of the forest and surrounding hills.
The two main bedrooms feature luxurious queen size beds with doonas and wardrobes. The third bedroom has two single beds and a desk, making it ideal for couples with children. There is a laundry and the bathroom is light and large, with bath and shower. Towels and sheets are provided.

Where you’ll be

Blackwood, Victoria, Australia

Enjoy cycling and hiking in the forest, go down to the Mineral Springs and try the spring water, or visit the award-winning gardens at Garden of St Erth. Stop in for a coffee and cake at the café there, or walk casually back into town for lunch at the Blackwood Merchant.
Make a quick trip over to Daylesford for the afternoon and have a massage, sauna and spa. Take advantage of the fully-equipped kitchen, or pop down to the Blackwood Hotel for dinner. Then relax by the wood fire and while away an evening with games or movies, or simply sit in the huge bathtub and look up at the stars through the ceiling window.
In the morning, get up early to find kangaroos outside on the grass, or lie in bed until mid-morning when the birdsong happens.

I am an outgoing and sociable person who really enjoys having fun outdoors. I love Art and Literature, and I also have a passion for Cycling, Hiking and for Rowing. I work as a German teacher in Geelong, where I live with my husband, daughter and our spoodle. I lived for twenty years before that in Blackwood in "Treetops," and it is my real home, the one that I love. Whenever I can I spend the weekend in the blue house with the round window, exploring the charming local area and enjoying the state forest, finding country markets, out-of-the-way cafes and rustic pubs with great atmosphere!
