We had a brilliant time at Aore, Nanette and Murray were excellent hosts. They made us feel welcome and gave us lots of tips about things to see and do. The accommodation was clean and tidy, and although located right next to their house it felt private. The highlight was the 4WD tour of the coffee plantation with Murray, he was a superb guide and told us a lot about the history of the island as we drove around. We also recommend Aore coffee! The snorkelling was also fantastic, right from your front door! Great place to stay.

Nanette and Murrays on Aore island really is a special place. The unit is tidy, clean and has everything one might need, including a great view overlooking the water. The island has plenty to explore wether by bike, kayak, snorkelling or quad tour. They are fantastic hosts and nice people. My wife and I loved our stay, and I would do it again in an instant.

Nanette and Murray are the best hosts we 've ever met. They made us feel as if we were part of the family. The unit was tidy and spacious, and the quad bike tour to their very own coffee plantation in the hills was an unforgettable experience. They even borrowed a second kayak so that both of us could paddle up the channel. The location is convenient, close to the resort - in case you want to eat out -, close to a dive shop, and a bike ride away from white sandy beaches. We hope that we will go back to Aore soon!

Murray and Nanette are beyond wonderful hosts. The accomodation comes with a stunning view, some of the best coral right off the jetty we had in our whole month in Vanuatu and freshly roasted coffee everyday to boot! The transportation across to Santo is fantastic, quick and only takes 5-10 minutes by boat. Definitely don't forget to explore Aore - Nanette and Murray open the roastery on Saturday mornings for the public to have some coffee and food...Freshwater Plantation is worth it for the food and hosts alone and if you don't feel like cooking the local resort is nearby. The facilities are clean, fresh towels and nice kitchen to use. Local ingredients from Aore or Mamas market. Do the tour with Gliff! We were the first to do so and it's so worth it. Legend of a man. At the end of the day Nanette and Murray are the best of hosts - give you space and privacy but are also very informative, kind and give you great local tips. Also good for a laugh and chat. Thanks again you two we really loved our 10 days there.

We had two wonderful days and nights at Nanette's place. It was very quiet (just what we wanted) and it's great for snorkeling. We felt welcome and enjoyed our privacy.

A real find! Nanette's place is beautiful with a stunning location and lovely hosts. Really well equipped house- close to local resort if you want to eat out or bring own supplies. If you are lucky enough to be there on Saturday, go to the coffee cafe for breakfast. Great snorkeling just off the jetty. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks so much!

Interaction with guests

We live here so we can assist you with any enquiries you may have.
There so many things to see and do or you can just chill and relax.

We can organise tours on the Mainland to the various visitor attractions such as Champagne Beach, Blue Holes for swimming or if you dive there are some great WW11 dive sites and operators who can take you to the right places. There is a lot of history here but its all up to you.

About Nanette

Murray and I came here to retire..well that didnt work out! :-)
Since "retiring" we are now establishing a coffee plantation and also have opened a wonderful coffee shop "Friends Cafe" in nearby Luganville.

On our fabulous Aore Island we have seen a need for budget type accommodation and are now offering that for anyone who wishes to live the dream without huge cost. We are!
