Nature and animal lovers paradise, surrounded by native birds and wild deer that roam. We also have dogs, cats, chickens, cows and lots of horses!

The space
Our modern barn is the perfect blend of cowboy charm and contemporary comfort. Nestled behind Woodhill forest making it close to nature.

Our barn is equipped with most things you would expect to find at home. There is a Smart TV to watch your favorite shows on Sky or Netflix or just play a board game. For young families we have a travel cot, mattress and some toys.

We are only 40mins from Auckland CBD but you will feel a million miles away from the hustle & bustle of the city.

Helensville township is just 9mins away where you will find a supermarket, pharmacy, liquor store, takeaways, hairdresser, cafes, etc.

A lot of the popular wineries and wedding venues such as The Hunting Lodge, Settlers and Bridgewater are all within 20mins drive making our location the perfect weekend getaway.

This is a place of work “Equine Films” we have horses everywhere! The barn has been purposely placed overlooking the arena for viewing pleasure.

Guest access
Whilst the barn space is privately yours, the arena does get used occasionally so it might not be as private and peaceful as some would like. However, it’s entertaining to watch what is going on and to see our beautiful horses in action. You might even recognise some movie horse legends!

When we have work on the downstairs bathroom does become a shared space. Our workers or actors may need to use this during the day if they are working or using the arena. It is accessible internally and from the outside. You have the option to lock it off internally.

The garage area is the only other shared space in which we keep some original carriages and a workbench (which doesn’t get used much). This is where the laundry is and access to the hot tub (which can also be accessed from the external stairs).

Other things to note
When we are not filming our horses are on holiday and it’s very quiet around here. It will just be us riding our own horses occasionally.

Our property can get busy when our horses are preparing for a movie. We will have horse wranglers and trainers around to work on the horses fitness and sometimes practicing stunts (that’s the fun stuff). You can sit on the lower or upper deck, be entertained and see our beautiful horses in action.

Another thing to note, occasionally (which we will advise if during your stay) our horses have to travel to set, sometimes early and sometimes returning late. Whilst all care will be taken to keep quiet they do make a noise when getting on and off the trailers. This process usually takes 5 to 10 minutes depending on how many horses needed. We hope this doesn’t put you off, it’s all part of the movie magic.
