Villa Kantinella is a beautiful combination of wood, and aged terrazzo tile in the dining room, while on the floor of the bedrooms the wood dominates.

The space

Lampini is a traditional village of 200 inhabitants and it is situated near a village called Spili which has all the facilities that someone might need.
It is located in a very short distance of the fantastic coasts of the South Crete and the cosmopolitan areas of the North of the island.
It is a suitable destination for touring all the island around.
The village has its own traditional history and possess all those elements of an old traditional village. In the beautiful village the locals are very hospitable who are daily engaged with their traditional jobs.
But the visitor can also admire the breathtaking gorges, the magnificent caves, the monuments, and the traditional church with its own history.

There are flights available to Chania or Heraklion or you can travel by boat from Piraeus to Rethimno. After reaching Rethimno, then you will have to drive (a car is essential) to reach Lambini village where the villas are located.

Comfortable stylish villa in a traditional mountain village, with beautiful views. We were able to explore the south coast easily - about 30 mins drive through a fantastic gorge - but enjoyed returning to the mountains for the evening. Olga and her husband looked after us really well and brought us a wonderful Cretan breakfast every morning . After a mix up with our booking (which they sorted out) they also brought us home cooked evening meals every night by way of an apology. Would definitely recommend if you're looking to escape the tourist crowds but still have access to the south coast beaches and watersports.

Everything was perfect. Every morning we found a delicious breakfast on the table. The house is beautiful, confortable, quiet. We really loved it.

This is a wonderful place to come and relax. The pool was great, the breakfast was yummy (although a surprise!), and we had lots of space. The area is beautiful and a good base for exploring the region. George is a really nice guy, but make sure to grab his contact information (we didn't have it) as Olga wasn't reachable during our stay. Luckily our neighbours had his contact and were able to reach him for us, at which point he quickly came to help us out. We really enjoyed exploring Spili and the surrounding areas and had a great time at the beaches. It was very hot during our stay, and while the downstairs stayed nice and cool, the air conditioning upstairs in the bedroom had trouble keeping up. Altogether it was a wonderful escape in a beautiful, quiet country setting.

We were met my George (not Olga) driving around the area, who directed us to the house, very kindly carried our luggage to the house and showed us around. George also popped by in the morning with a small bite to eat - nothing significant, but a very nice and welcome touch. Whilst we booked Villa Kandinella, we stayed in the neighbouring house (I think). But it was exactly as expected, and this was in no way a negative. You get a lot of house for your money here - two double bedrooms, both with ensuite, another double bed on the mezzanine level, and final toilet too. There's a small garden area, and also a pool. As we were only there one night (and in March) the outside areas weren't used, but I'm sure if we were to be staying for longer this would've been brilliant. This house may be more remote than many other Crete locations, and is a little difficult to find, but it's easy to recommend if looking for somewhere in the area. And if you have a car it's not all that far from Rethymno if you want somewhere more remote to stay.
