This room is located in a home that is steps away from a bus stop that can take you all over the island. The Warm, Blue Pacific Ocean is 500 steps away-- where whales have been sighted from October to April every year. You can view and swim with Spinner Dolphins just 2 miles down the road (for free !). We have snorkel gear and an ocean kayak available for use (just sign it out in accountability book). There are 2 kitchens and 2 full bathrooms available for guests to use. We have a garden spa to soothe you after a day of surfing, snorkeling or hiking. Fresh, Organic fruit available in season (we have Papayas year 'round). Our wish is for you to enjoy a restful, relaxing time while staying at Papaya Patch.

Steve was as absolutely fantastic host, it was a pity we didn't get to meet Laretta as she was away while we were there. They let us use the kayak, surf boards and snorkelling gear while we were there which was really nice. We really enjoyed our stay there and also enjoyed having the cats aswell!!

Wonderful place to stay if you like beautiful beaches and are trying to avoid crowds. Loved my short time there, will be back for more. Stephen and Laretta are great hosts, full of info on the area, very accomodating and helpful. The room, batbroom, and kitchen were all very clean and comfortable.

Excellent place! If you are looking for a place away from the tourist traps, a place that feels like home, and a wonderful host this is the place to be. At the budget you will get so much more when you stay here. The place was very clean and fully stocked with everything thing you would need for an adventure in Hawaii. You and other guest will have access to your own full kitchen! A big plus was the host Laretta, who gave us a great tour and really made us feel at home. Finally with all the toys she graciously lends to guest you will save a ton of money. Loretta has a big heart and likes to share information and insights about the island life. We really enjoyed the conversations we had with her and would recommend staying with her any time. Mahalo Loretta and much aloha from the two of us.

Local nurse into health and wellness; there's a garden in the back most of the year. I like a serene, calm environment that promotes good healthy fun! Enjoy ocean activities, and I know little secret places that I'll share with you when you come. The five things I just can't live without would be connecting with my grown kids and my one grand child; Knowing Stephen is here, and the 5 beautiful, loving cats and 1 sweet, soulful dog that lives on this acre with us; Gardening and creating meditative spaces to go to and relax.Last, but certainly not least, would be creating a restful, clean place where guests from all over the world could come and feel "at home and accepted" during their travels. My favorite travel destination is Hawaii ! Favorite motto: "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance"." I would rather wear out, than rust out", "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".....
