We stayed in Seimeisou for 5 nights, Akiko & Motonobu's family are very friendly. The main reason I choose to live here is the breakfast, as previous reviews always talk about the breakfast. We had different breakfast everyday, I really enjoy them, even the western breakfast still surprised me. And we had good conversation with the family every morning. Motonobu'S mum is very traditional Japanese lady, his Aunty speaks good English, they are twins and they did most services in seimeisou. They helped us a lot during those days. We asked recommends for restaurants around Kyoto, and they always reply on time by message. Motonobu also pick us and drop us from subway station when we arrive and leave. I am negligently person, I was waiting in wrong station on the arrive date and I left my handbag on his car when I leave.....thanks for his help again;))) We lived in upstairs (it is shame the traditional Japanese room is rent out, but I love this room also;) Upstairs is more private) our bedroom is very comfortable and good size. We also have a small balcony, but I did't use it a lot as they provide the laundry services. They installed new systems into the bathroom, have a hot bath after the trip make me relax. It is much much better than stay in small and tiny hotel room, but they provide better service than hotel.

Amazing hospitality, probably the best you find in Tokyo. Lovely family who prepared for us breakfast everyday and different types as well as helped us in need (got us medication when fallen sick). Location is somewhat far but the hosts are super cordial in taking us from and to the home and train station. Definite recommended stay if you are single or couple

The house is very beautiful and the bed room is very comfort. The host is very nice. I stayed there for five night. I think i will go there again. BTY, the location of the house is not in the centre and It will take about 40 minutes to the city center by bus. Anyway, their family is very kind. Thanks very much Akiko & 柳元墉。

This is definitely one of my best experience with air b&b in Japan. Motonobu San and his family are extremely warm-hearted. They pick me up from the subway station, give me very detail instruction of traveling around and also lend me their bicycle. Two aunties in their family are extremely nice, they prepare different delicious breakfast for me everyday and clean the room for me too. I really enjoyed the week I spend there! I highly recommend their house to traveler who want to really enjoy the Kyoto style life in this city!!

Omotenashi! This is a word I've learned that describes Japanese hospitality. I'm lucky enough to say that majority of my Airbnb experiences were great but this time in Japan it was really remarkable. Akiko & Motonobu's family went out of their way to make my stay in Kyoto as special as possible and I had an incredible time! Their house is fantastic and spotless. Very, very clean and nicely decorated. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, fresh and with a great view to the city, plus a balcony. The bathroom upstairs was huge and the shower was great. There was a tub too, but I didn't use it. They served me breakfast (!!!) and the food was absolutely delicious! I'm not exaggerating... read the other reviews . They also helped me with my laundry and I was very embarrassed when they didn't charge me for it. I went to Japan mainly for work but I wanted my 3 days in Kyoto to be an opportunity to learn more about the Japanese culture. Not only I had a chance to do so with Akiko & Motonobu's family, but Kyoto also happens to be a spectacular city. Staying with a Japanese family, I learned that the Japanese culture is a lot about being kind and respectful to others, if they know you or not. Their behavior goes beyond being polite. Their kindness is remarkable!
