Bungalow 1 is in the foreground, Bungalow 2 at the back of the drive. They are exactly the same in size and amenities, each sleeps a total of 6.
Available for rent, individually or together, are two separate fully furnished self contained holiday homes in Kaikoura, New Zealand.
Each "bungalow" has:
Two bedrooms with all linens provided (1 with queen bed, 1 with two single beds)
Fully equipped kitchen (stove with oven, full size fridge + freezer, microwave, dishes/cutlery/pots & pans etc)
Lounge with TV/DVD/stereo, double pull-out futon and a single daybed
1.5 bathrooms (1 with shower stall, toilet + basin and the second with toilet + basin and washing machine)

They are 50 m from the shoreline, a short walk to Dolphin Encounter and a 10-15 minute walk to town with numerous options for drinks and dining.
Kayaks are available for rental to the experienced.
We live on the adjoining property so around for local knowledge and pick-up from train/bus if we're available to do so.
Each bungalow can accommodate up to 6 people. Please note that we do consider children to be people :) so must be included in your total head count. Any uncertainty please send me an inquiry before booking.
If the calendar indicates unavailability on a date you wish to book, please make an inquiry as the system will block out the date after booking only one bungalow. The second bungalow could still be available!
The bungalows are quiet, clean and spacious. They are great value. Why stay in a cramped motel room when you can get an entire holiday house for the same price?
No smoking inside, please.
Kaikoura is a designated Green Globe Community, so there is no curbside garbage pick-up. We appreciate rubbish being sorted and provide bins to do so.
Maximum of 6 people/bungalow per booking.
Non-staying guests must park on the street and vacate the property by 11 p.m.
The hosts were most welcoming. They told us about all the sights to go and see and recommended good eating places. The accommodation description was accurate. The neighbourhood was very close to the town centre. The beach was a very short walk away.
Susan and Billy's place is absolutely lovely. We arrived later than planned but Billy was so chilled out it was great. He showed us to our lovely apartment and even said to help ourselves to the grapes that were growing outside...they were very tasty! :)
The apartment has everything you could need and was spotless.
On leaving had a nice chat with Billy and Susan and they are great hosts. Thank you.
The place is spacious and clean with comfy beds. The house was a short walk to the beach and the town center. Susan and Billy had a lovely garden and offered us the grapes from their garden. That was most delicious grapes I have ever had. Highly recommended!
Such a lovely bungalow with comfy beds, all amenities required for comfortable stay and quite spacious. Great location with a view of the sea from our balcon, and about 10min walk to centre of kaikoura. Really lovely hosts who even offered us fresh fruit from their garden. Highly recommended!
Staying here was a very pleasant experience. We arrived quite late in the evening and with no further ado, Susan made the necessary arrangements. The place is lovely with a great porch, view of the sea and mountains, and, if you are lucky, the stars as well! The location was very convenient - it was a lovely walk by the sea to get in to the 'centre' of town. All in all: I would definitely recommend it.
It was nice to have the whole unit for our selves. It was spacious, clean and complete. It matched the description very well.
We had a warm friendly greeting.Very considerate and helpful hostal. The cottage was even better than describe do. Neat clean and big with all your needs met. Totally self sufficient.
Great location a block off the water and an easy beautiful walk to town.

Billy, my Kiwi husband, and I have lived in Kaikoura since 2001. Ten years earlier on a NZ cycling trip, we decided Kaikoura should eventually be our home. In the past 30 years we've lived in W. Africa, the U.S., the Middle East, Europe and S.E. Asia. We still enjoy traveling as much as possible, usually by bicycle. However, Kaikoura has indeed become our home and we'd love to help you enjoy it.
