This beautiful flat in a Grade 11 listed Villa, offers an opportunity to experience a piece of London history. Set in a most desirable area with great local restaurants, cafe's and bars and only 20 mins from central London. Have a magical escape!

The space

Nestled in the heart of an ancient pocket of East London known as Walthamstow Village, is a unique garret flat situated on the first and second floors of a Grade 11 listed detached early Victorian Villa. You enter the original stained glass main door and up the stairs to the flat. There is a small office space and large wooden shuttered balcony window on the landing. Old wooden panelling clad the walls of the original stair case lead up to a large, living/dining space offering wonderful light airy views. The kitchen area is compact and well equipped with a vintage Kitchen Daisy pantry. Help yourself to tea, coffee and whatever you find in the kitchen cupboards and fridge, milk etc. There's a big super comfy leather sofa and two lovely vintage reading chairs. In the bathroom, you'll find a good sized double ended bath with shower. The bespoke bed has a memory foam top mattress which is soooo comfortable with lovely soft feather pillows and duvet covered in Egyptian cotton.

We were very satisfied and appreciated the most friendly welcoming very much. The Appartement is really comfortable and well situated: five minutes to the Center of Walthamstow with shops, Cafes and on the other side only ten minutes to the underground. All together perfect place to stay. Thank you very much again Liz!

Quiet, quirky, quaint, wonderful. We had a lovely time staying at Liz's flat. The neighborhood offered everything we needed and a quick tube ride into London. Must sees in this neighborhood: the William Morris Museum and God's Own Junkyard. Perfect spot for couples and small families.

This terrific place -- an aerie, really -- is located on a quiet "close" (cul-de-sac) right in the middle of the charming village section of Walthamstow, a first-ring suburb of London, about 40 minutes from city center. We stayed here because we have friends in Walthamstow, but the place and the area are so charming, we had to drag ourselves onto either the Underground or Overground trains to go into central London. The apartment is as-described, and as-appears in pictures. What the pictures can't convey is the light-filled, airy feel of the place, with tree-top views from its third floor (in U.S. terminology) location. There are huge windows all along one side, and they happily face east, making mornings in the place light, bright and cheery (we lucked out with several sunny days). Our two year-old loved the little rainbow lights that spun around the room in the morning (activated by a little solar gizmo with a crystal spinning round), which just added to the magical feel of the place. The apartment's a bit quirky, squeeky and cheeky, but we love places like this. There's a charming 900 year-old church across the street, and the super charming stores and restaurants of Walthamstow Village are five-minute walk. Another five minutes past the village main street is a great children's playground we visited daily. Liz is a wonderful, warm host, and we felt comfortable giving and receiving hugs immediately. She was thrilled to have us there with our boy, and could not have been a better host. If you have reason to stay in Walthamstow, or would simply like a family-friendly village that's close enough to the city to visit easily, you cannot beat this place!
