IMPORTANT: PARKING -- Parking is street parking. We live downtown in a city. I cannot guarantee parking. I cannot tell you where you will find a spot. While parking is generally fine (you will find a spot within one block), Sunday and Monday nights can be tough if you get here after 8 or so due to parking restrictions. It is not impossible to find a spot, but it is more difficult. The streets are very well marked with signs. Please do not ask me where to park. If you ask me where to park, I will tell you to read the signs. I really have no better insight into parking than to direct you to the signs. If you are parking Monday through Friday during the day (between 8AM - 6PM) it is "Resident Parking" zone however we do have a guest pass to override this - just send me your license plate number and state and I will enter your information into the City of Albany and you can remain parked all day and night.

If you are traveling with a canine companion, there will be a charge of $25 for the first night and $10 for any additional night. A dog bed and bowls will be provided upon request. Dogs are NOT permitted on the furniture!

Underwhelming and under-rested stay.

The place is a lot bigger than it looks like in the pictures. Molly was amazing, super accommodating, and always reachable. We just had a couple of questions and she was the nicest. Everything went without a hitch. The area is very quiet, it is across the street from the executive mansion, but we felt really safe. We were out at night and also at five in the morning on a Sunday, which was really quiet, but we didn't have any issues. The place itself has everything you need, very comfortable, and very spacious. We were there for the Hudson Mohawk River marathon, location is perfect. We were about 10 minutes walk from the expo, and 15 minutes from the finish and the buses to the start. We were also about 15 minutes away, walking, to the restaurants and bars, so it was quite convenient. I was very happy that the area and the apartment until four so quiet as I needed sleep before the marathon, everything was amazing. Thank you Molly!

Should be aware that there is a cat living there.

Response from Molly:
This is completely false. There is no cat living in the apartment and there is no cat living in our house above the apartment. There are some stray cats in the neighborhood but no cats live on the premises and I have no idea where this guest got that idea from.

I enjoyed my visit at Molly's place. The apartment was more spacious than I expected. The location was convenient to everything and just what I needed for my overnight stay. Molly was very helpful in navigating the check-in process and I would definitely recommend her place to others.

I have lived in the Capital District for most of my life having grown up in Troy (just across the river from Albany). After living in Manhattan for over 7 years, I came back to Albany in 2009. While living in the big city gave me a more cosmopolitan perspective and exposed me to things I may not have come across upstate, I fully appreciate the more laid-back lifestyle that the Capital District has to offer. Albany and Troy are fun cities with lots to do, but you can drive 10-15 minutes and enjoy the countryside. The lack of hustle and bustle -- and being able to live in a space larger than a closet-- more than makes up for the slight lag in trendy things making it up our way. At the present time, I am an attorney who enjoys running, reading, cooking, gardening, and arts and crafts endeavors in my spare time.

My significant other has lived in the area for approximately 20 years, having moved here from New York City. He purchased this property as a burnt out shell. The exterior was maintained (as it is right across from the Governor's mansion) but the interior had to be completely rebuilt. He designed it himself and the result is a very modern and hospitable home with a charming garden apartment that we occasionally rent out on air bnb!! We look forward to welcoming you!
