Very well located. Public transport around (transmilenio for airport, Candelaria, etc). Chapinero and its nice trendy places are very close. Security is very good in the area. Poor view but silent which is priceless so close from séptima.

I had a very comfortable stay in the apartment. Sonia's husband and mother-in-law were very good people. They met me when I first arrived in place of Sonia, who works in another city, checked me in, gave me keys and showed me how the stove and other things worked in the apartment. They even took the time to drive me to the grocery store to make sure I had everything I needed and helped me carry all of my things back to the apartment. I think they may have even asked the building guards to look out for me because I didn't speak a lot of Spanish. I stayed for a bit over a month, and so I appreciated that the apartment was well stocked with all of the appliances, cooking instruments and utensils I needed for a long stay. The apartment has a lot of space and seating and is in general furnished very comfortably. Everything was neat and clean when I arrived. One thing to keep in mind is that Bogota gets to be pretty chilly even in the summer, and even though there are blankets provided, there isn't heating in the apartment and so guests should pack warm clothing for being in the apartment also. As a previous guest mentioned, the apartment faces the inner courtyard and so doesn't get a lot of natural light but there are lamps and lights that keep the apartment well-lit and so it wasn't a problem for me to do evening reading at home. The apartment is located on a major commercial avenue with a lot of restaurants and shops nearby and so it's pretty convenient. There are nearby bus stops but I ended up using Uber and walking. I think that you do need to be careful about pickpockets but as long as you're smart about carrying around cash and cellphones, walking and exploring the neighborhood is pretty safe. People are generally pretty nice and friendly and it's nice to get to know the neighborhood that you live in. If I needed anything, Sonia was very responsive by cell and email and would check in on me from time to time to make sure everything was fine. Her family also lives nearby and were always open to helping me with anything during my stay. In general, it was a good apartment to stay in and they were a wonderful host family to have. I had a very pleasant stay in the apartment and city.

The flat is conveniently located near one of the main avenues, Cra. 7, and you just walk a couple of blocks north or south to a bus stop for a bus which will take you south to the centre in about half an hour or North close to the Zona Rosa in 15 mins (depending on the traffic!). You can also walk west for a few blocks to Marly Transmilenio station. There's a supermarket a few blocks away and a few food places nearby. The apartment was clean and felt spacious (for 2 people), the kitchen was well-equipped, the bed was SO comfortable!!! the room was mostly quiet, especially at night (but noises in the building did carry through sometimes), and the shower had excellent pressure and temperature control! (not always easy to find in Bogota in my experience!). The wifi connection was excellent and the TV was great. The building also has good security with friendly security personnel. The apartment doesn't have a view, it faces the other side of the building, and not much light can enter, which means that it's dark in the apartment during the day and you will have to keep the lights on. I noticed this because I stayed in a couple of days working; however, this won't be a problem if you normally plan to go out during the day and the big advantage is that you won't be bothered by noise from street traffic. We found the apartment a bit cold at first, especially the living room, but an electric heater is provided which worked well. I didn't meet Sonia but she was very communicative via email and phone before and after our trip. She wasn't available during our stay as she was away, but her mother-in-law, Beatriz, met us and was very friendly, showed us the apartment and explained what we needed to know about the area. For the price, this apartment is a good option, but tourists who don't know Bogota well might find that it's a little bit far from the main places of interest.
