Where you’ll be

Auckland, New Zealand

Here in the central city's most elegant quarter cafes, restaurants and shopping are all close. Shortland/ Queen Streets, Britomart, Train station, Bus Terminus, Ferry, Countdown, Les Mills gym, Albert Park, University and the AUT are all minutes walk away. The Viaduct with its many restaurants is about 10 minutes walk away. There are loads of neat things to do within easy striking distance - you are VERY well located. Here are just some ideas: take a ferry to Rangitoto Island and do the walk to the summit (a solid climb so not for the faint hearted) OR a ferry to Devonport to enjoy a spot of shopping or a ride in a Clydesdale drawn cart OR a ferry to Waiheke Island to partake of a wine tour/ art trail (the ferry terminal is just a few minutes’ walk away). A visit to the New Auckland City Art Gallery and the Auckland Museum and botanical gardens. Parnell outdoor salt water baths or the Teps indoor pool with spa/sauna etc. Dining at Britomart or the Viaduct. Shopping on Queen Street or the Chancery. There’s great clothes fashion shopping on High Street and further afield - and only if you have a car - any of the West Coast beaches are AMAZING - Kari Kari & Piha. There are fantastic nature bush walks over that way too. Finally the Auckland coast to coast walk runs right past our front door. There's more in the Welcome note that we email you on booking.

Hi, I'm Peter, an actor based here in Auckland. I also work in Australia - Melbourne is my second most favourite city! My other passion is teaching acting, and I also do occasional travel writing. I have three young children (pictured a few years ago with me in Thailand) and a wife, Nic. We’ve owned two apartments in the historic Carlisle building in Auckland for ten years now, and when we can we stay the odd night to get a break from the kids, so we know the building and area well. We can thoroughly recommend the apartment and tell you all about the area if you'd like. We're hands on and helpful and only 30 minutes drive away: nothing is too much trouble. We hope to meet you soon!
