We loved our stay here. It was so beautiful and quiet. The veiws were amazing from every room. We fell asleep with the windows open and a soft breeze coming through the room. The sunset was lovely and in the morning we watched a hot air balloon floating over the valley from our bedroom window. Niccolo was lovely and a wonderful host. We enjoyed learning the history of the building and its history. We would love to come back and stay again.

Niccolo's XIV century castle is straight out of a history book. The walls, rooms, and doors all tell the story of life before us. It was a pleasure to stay in this relic and to be able to talk to Niccolo about its history. We would definitely come back again!

The place is wonderful, in every step the centuries of use speak to you. The views of Tuscan hills and surrounds are beautiful one day and fabulous the next. You must be sure footed on the cobbled street and the time worn stone stairs. The house lost in time is stands below the shadow of the ruin of what must have been a magnificent medieval fortress, deliberately blown up by rival interests in the 1500's. The host is great fun and a mine of history on his family who have been in possession of the property for at least 700 years.

Niccolo is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. It is a large estate, but as soon as I arrived, I gave Niccolo a call and he came out to greet me and show me where to go. I enjoyed hearing about the history of his family home, and all the hard work that he has put into maintaining it. I enjoyed my stay very much. I also liked that it was centrally located relative to many of the famous sites to see in Tuscany. It isn't everyday that you have the opportunity to stay in a real castle!

The castle is situated on a hill with a beautiful view of the surrounding area (and of the sunsets). It is atmospheric, unique and beautiful (note our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable). We found our host, Niccolo, to be outgoing, friendly and willing to share the history of the home with you and very willing to accommodate (I. e. requests for lunch, dinner etc.). We very much enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.

Where to start? First, this is a very special place for people looking for a very authentic Tuscan experience in a castle/ancestral home that has been in a family for hundreds of years. This isn't a Disney style experience. The place is out in the country. It is very old. It's quirky. It isn't for everyone. That said... the pictures don't do it justice. The whole location is spectacularly beautiful from the private drive up to the castle to the historic drawing room. If you want to wake up to birds singing outside your window, or to look out on a stunning view featuring spectacular fields, grape vines and olive groves, or walk through an ancient building to get to your room... then this place is for you. We were enchanted by the beauty of the place and charmed by our host, Niccolo, an elegant and knowledgeable gentleman who is gradually restoring his ancestral home to its former glory. We will always remember our time at this magical place. Niccolo will always have a place in our hearts.
