The Basecamp is a very comfortable and quiet place to stay while you explore the beautiful scenery around Kingston. You can bike or trek to your heart's content, with Queenstown just up the road, and know that you have well appointed and relaxing accommodation waiting at the end of the day!

A nearly new garage conversion, everything you need plus more, a good selection of music to play on an excellent Bose system, books and magazines. Comfortable seating and really comfy bed. Good shower and kitchen. There's a heatpump and a wood fire but we didn't need them as the weather was perfect, sat outside until sunset. There were a few sandflies around to take some insect repellent, the host kindly gave us some.

Beautiful home, loved the extras such as shampoo & conditioner, food basics, cooking oil and milk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Good little spot for us to spend the night after a Doubtful Sound cruise on our way to Queenstown. Spacious apartment, and some good views up the mountains. Patrick was very communicative, and made everything easy for us.

Emma-Kate and I live in Kingston just down the road from our friends Lynne & Steve who own the house which we manage and care for on their behalf. We also host our own place on Airbnb and love the whole opportunity to share our space, and our neighbour's, in this fabulous region.

We are chef's, photographers, writers and illustrators. Lynne and Steve are intrepid travellers and super outdoorsy types. If you have any questions about the listing, ask us, and if you want to know anything about the great walks or bike trails in NZ, Lynne and Steve would be glad to share their wealth of knowledge.
