I stayed in Martin's apartment for 3 months and absolutely enjoyed my stay. It was well equipped minus the oven (which would be impossible to have due to space constraints). The bed was of great quality, there was a small wardrobe with space for storing suitcases (not shown in pictures) and all equipment was in good condition. Some initial glitches with the wifi but Martin solved everything timely and effectively, thanks for that. He is an amazing host and always got back to me within the same day if I had any questions. The flat is on the 3rd floor with a nice backyard view and there is an elevator in the building. The building is located close to the U-bahn/Tram/Train station (Altenessen Hbf), it is a safe area (I returned home around midnight on two occasions and felt safe). No complaints whatsoever. If I get back to Essen again, Martin's apartment would undoubtedly be my 1st choice accommodation. Highly recommended for both short and longer stays!

The Studio was very clean and our host had even bit of vegtable oil and sugar ready to use in the cabin. sheets were clean, and enough clean towels available. I had forgotten to ask how to control the heating system so I would recommend the visitors to ask before hand any information you need. It was a lovely studio and had a nice view to wake up to.

Martin´s place was great! Just as described, and also exactly like the other reviews portray it. The flat itself is very comfortable, it´s nice and bright, and faced away from the street, so it is completely quiet. Location was also good, as it is just a few hundred meters from all kinds of public transport, most of them running almost 24/7. Martin responded nice and quickly to messages, and even though I didn´t meet him personally, I met Helga, which was a very nice lady! All in all a place that gives you a lot for the money.

Pretty, cozy apartment in the part of Altenessen. Included everything as described, very clean with all the useful kitchen equipment. Before departure Martin was very friendly and quick in response. After arrival we were welcomed by Martin's friend who showed us the flat. The neighbourhood seemed quite safe, to reach the city centre it took about 8 minutes by metro, which is about 3 mins from the flat. Would recommend if you search for apartment in the calmer part of the city with easy reach to the centre.

I had a great stay in Martins studio in Essen. I got everything I needed there, including a good working kitchen. He was also very helpful with informations about transport in Essen before I came.
