The property is still relatively wild. Families of deer come by daily to feed on the grasses and vegetation. The birds sing in the morning. If you are lucky, you can see a resident owl, woodpecker, garter snake or tree frogs. The house is a milled cedar log home that still gives a faint but pleasant cedar smell.

The space

Fall Special $400/week (7 days)
$80/night Sunday to Thursday for October and November.
Fridays and Saturdays in October and November are $90 night.

This is a 2 bedroom cottage. The home is made out of cedar logs with vaulted ceilings. The cottage is newly renovated while retaining the original cedar walls, vaulted cedar ceiling and wood windows. The bathroom is equipped with a vanity, stall shower and toilet.
The living room features the original wood stove. There is a kitchenette with toaster oven, small bar fridge, small upright freezer, hotplate, cutlery, dishes, towels, etc. The spacious deck has a portable barbecue.

It is located a 1km walk from the ferry along the Sturdies Bay Trail. If you keep walking another 1km you will reach the pub and market. There is very limited Saturday only public transit on the island. Most amenities of south Galiano Island are a short walk away. If you need a ride from the ferry, please contact us ahead of time and we will be able to pick you up. Also we have Wifi.

Watch the deer graze, the woodpeckers peck or hear the raven's song. The rural location means that when night falls, it is pitch black - perfect for stargazing.

It often takes a day or two to adjust from the city pace to the slower island pace. Enjoy the island lifestyle!

Guest access

The rental is for the entire upper floor. It includes a spacious deck and a small portable bbq. Feel free to explore the forested areas. It does not include the basement area or the other home on the property.

Cabin on Galiano was just what we hoped it would be! It was an easy bike ride from the ferry / town. Julie was in touch the morning of our stay, and was easy to contact throughout our time in the Cabin. The space is large, clean and quiet. We appreciated the towels and kitchen necessities. Tried the wood burning stove one night too! Definitely recommend it.

The cedar cabin was clean, minimal and very cozy for our one night stay on Galiano Island. It is relatively close to the ferry and most of the shops/restaurants on the island.

Nice, clean and accurate as described. Good location as it's near everything. Thank you also for leaving clean towels for us to use. Would recommend to others.
