Located on the brow of a hill that overlooks the city, and just off the A431 Bristol to Bath road, this old Victorian cottage is surprisingly quiet and cosy. Convenient for visiting both Bath & Bristol, by both car & bus, & even bicycle.
Check-in time is set to 4PM but the house may well be ready before this time... Please get in contact to discuss your plans.
You will be staying in our much loved home and so, in summary, we expect the house and its contents to be respected and taken good care of.
For clarity, here are the things we expect from our guests:
SHOES - No outdoor footwear upstairs
SMOKING - Strictly no smoking indoors - if you wish to smoke please do so in the garden & make use of the ashtrays available (rather than discarding cigarette butts onto the decking). Please be sure to always lock up afterwards.
NEIGHBOURS - Please be mindful of them, especially with regards to noise late at night and parking
SECURITY - Please take care of your possessions as well as our home. Ensure windows are closed, both doors are locked and the alarm is set when you leave the house. Please let us know if the alarm is triggered and needs resetting.
WASTE - Our general waste only gets collected once a fortnight and is limited to what fits in the black bin with the lid down. So we can meet these requirements, please separate all food (cooked & raw) and recyclables from general waste
CLEANING - We do not charge for cleaning unless there are special circumstances - see security deposit information below
LAUNDRY - Feel free to use the washing machine for your own items but please leave the guest towels and bedding to us
BREAKAGES - Please advise of breakages or damages asap. Most often the costs are so minimal they don't get passed onto the guest. It's the advance notice we need to make sure everything is good for the next guests.
ADDITIONAL GUESTS - We are expecting the number of guests on the booking. Additional visitors are only permitted when they are people the main guest can vouch for - eg. known friends and family. Visitors that make use of beds, or stay overnight, are considered additional guests and need to be paid for since this has an impact on housekeeping. Please advise us of visitors expected whether staying overnight or not.
SECURITY DEPOSIT - The security deposit is in place to cover a number of things. This includes: additional housekeeping fees we may incur (for things like separating rubbish to facilitate collection, carpet stains & spillages, damaged bedding & towels), costly breakages/damages (including things that cannot be cleaned and need replacing), and additional guests. Where any of these things occur a case will be raised in the Resolution Centre.
Many thanks :)
I have lived in Bristol since 2002 and have owned my wonderful cottage since 2003. It has held me through many interesting phases of life and since I gave birth to my daughter Georgina a year ago I have been spending most time with family and friends.
Having now cleansed the home of many belongings, and given it a little lick of paint here and there, I feel like offering it out to people looking for city breaks. I'm looking forward to meeting people from around the country, and the world, and giving them somewhere comfortable, and affordable to stay...
