The Levite Villa is a special homestay that places great emphasis on taking care of visitors' health and well being. It is a four-floor European-style architecture built by slope architecture. The exterior is decorated with stone finishing and the pentroof is black, which makes it look like a church from afar.

"Levite" is a Hebrew word meaning union. The owners established the homestay to provide an ideal venue to gather friends and share health information. The organic shampoo, the bedding set (made of the best Egyptian cotton), and the carefully-prepared breakfast with the freshest ingredients are sure to offer guests with a healthy and comfortable stay, indeed!

Moreover, guestrooms are of a good size with en-suite bathrooms and feature windows that overlook the local scenery. You can also stand on the 66 square-meter wide wooden terrace and gaze at beautiful Keelung Mountain on the left and Earless Pot Mountain on at the right, as well as the renowned Yin Yang Sea located between them. The Levite Villa is located very close to Jioufen, Jinguashih and the northeast Taiwan coastal scenic area.

Overall, based on the room size, dated furnishings, lack of central heating, price, and inconvenient distance to Old Street alone, I would NOT recommend this hostel. You could find a better hostel with more bang for your buck. In addition, my girlfriend and I had a terrible experience with Tony. TL;DR 1) Tony nicked the bottom chassis and tire of my car when driving us back from Old Street (he requested to drive my car). He did not apologise during out stay, but afterwards through an airbnb private message. 2) He requested we use foreign currency as payment for pickup/dropoff at Jioufen Old Street when we only just met, despite providing free transport to previous guests. 3) The hostel was inaccessible to Jioufen Old Street without transportation, which was reluctantly provided after payment. 4) The curtain for the glass front door was too short, thus there was a significant area for you to look into the room from the outside. It made us feel like we lacked complete privacy. 5) The room had no central heating, only an electric blanket. It was comfortably warm while sleeping, but very cold if you weren't in bed. ------------------------------------------------------ Here's the longer version of the our experience We lived in Taipei and decided to drive to Jioufen. Since parking was difficult near Jioufen old street, we wanted to find a hostel that offered parking and was accessible to Old street, which is why we decided on Tony & Pauline's place. When we arrived, we were welcomed by Tony. He told us Old Street was difficult and dangerous to walk to, and advised us to drive. I told him that I would prefer to leave the car at the hostel and that we were under the impression (based on numerous reviews) that Tony could drop us off at Old Street and pick us up when we were done. Tony was reluctant to drive us at first and tried to convince us many times to drive. Since he collects foreign currency, he eventually suggested that I use foreign currency (~$4USD / $120NTD) in exchange for his transportation to Old Street. At this point, within the first 15 minutes of getting there, my girlfriend and I felt that we weren't given the same hospitality as previous guests, and had to fork up money for transportation. Even though it's not a lot of money, it still left a bitter taste in our mouths. Tony then said that he would be driving my car, without asking for any kind of permission, and initially did not explain to us why he would be driving my car. In addition to his initial reluctancy to drive, it felt like he was rude and did not care about what we thought. After I asked him why we wouldn't be taking his car, he explained that it was so he could get use to my car, making it easier for him to park for us in his narrow driveway. And so I agreed. On...

The stay was very pleasant! We enjoyed it very much albeit the raining days. Both Pauline and Tony were very friendly and kind. We enjoyed the morning 3 mins health advice that were given. Tony even went to the extent of fetching us to KeeLung night market to enjoy the local delicacies. Both Pauline and Tony are the authorities in their own areas of expertise and we learned a lot from them. We'd highly recommend this homestay to anybody who would like to visit Jinguashi. Thanks again to Pauline, Tony & their family members for the warm hospitality shown throughout our stay. Cheers! Char Boo & family

We had an incredible vacation in Taiwan. The villa was breathtaking and the scenery was nothing we had ever experienced. The hosts were so pleasant and sweet. The breakfast offered each morning was delicious and filling. Tony was quick to pick us up right when we arrived and very helpful with guiding us to the right places to go eat and hike. We highly recommend this beautiful getaway.

The host was so great! We are so lucky to meet them and their family! They drive us free from jiufen to train station. Their house was amazing in the mountain area, so green around the house. The room was big, the bed face the mountain, you can not believable what in front of you when you wake up! We will be back!
