A beautiful maintained home in a former mining village full of local character. 5 minutes drive from Newcastle Airport and 20 minutes (£12.00 taxi fare) from the fantastic City of Newcastle upon Tyne and the famous Metro Centre. The property is over 100 years old, I have upgraded the interior in contemporary style. There is a supportive community, local pub and a homely atmosphere.
This is a mid terraced, much loved bijoux home. The house is ideal as a base for exploring the whole of the North East region, the City of Newcastle upon Tyne and also as an alternative to airport hotel accommodation.
There is a modern style kitchen/breakfast room, spacious lounge with French doors to the garden and three double bedrooms - one king bed in the loft room, one double bed in the front en suite bedroom and two new single beds in the rear bedroom. The loft room and back bedroom have lovely views over rolling countryside.
Guests will have full access to the entire home and garden.
There is an enclosed, well maintained garden with decked seating area overlooking the Northumberland countryside at the rear of the house whilst the front has an open aspect on to the village green. There is off street parking for one car on the drive and one across the drive. Additional cars can be parked opposite house adjacent to the village green.
Interaction with guests
Either myself or a neighbour will be there to check that everything is ok on arrival and I have left recommendations for local amenities and also tourist guides. I have lived in the area all my life and have lots of local knowledge which I can message to guests at their request. I will be available, via mobile, at all times to answer any queries.
Other things to note
There is off street parking for this listing. Since this is unusual for the village there will be other cars parked along the street. Please ensure you do not park outside any other house.
Bath towels are not provided unless requested at an additional cost.
The loft room is heated by an electric heater, which keeps the room warm, not connected to the central heating. The room does not have hanging space, a rail can be provided on request.
There is Sky TV in lounge and TV with Freeview in front double bedroom. I have a combi boiler which means there is unlimited hot water which can only be used by one appliance at once.
I have a beautiful Dalmation and so the house is well kitted out for dogs. I don't have any gear for children but they are most welcome. I expect guests to clean up after their dog and to keep them under strict control. The house is mid - terrace so noise and disturbance should be kept to a minimum. There is parking on the drive and in front of the drive. Additional cars should be parked opposite house adjacent to the village green and not in front of neighbours.
Dogs should never be left in the house alone and departure instructions must be adhered too.
