Only a brief 2 night stay unfortunately, for a family get together to scatter mum's ashes. Absolutely stunning setting overlooking caernarfon bay with lovely hills behind and we were lucky with dry days in north wales! Heating had been put on for us, all beds made up and towels provided. Very comfy beds which were very welcome after long journeys all round. We didn't meet Ifor, but we spoke on the phone and exchanged texts over the weekend and he was very kind in asking that we were well. We all wished we could have stayed longer to finally make it all the way up Snowdon, but not to be this trip. Downside? We unknowingly chose the weekend of a major triathlon which made parking in the Llanberis pass a nightmare. No mobile signal made liaising with family members almost impossible - at any other time this wouldn't have been a problem. Only downside with the house was the lack of anywhere to hang wet outdoor gear, otherwise, it suited us very well and had space and comfort for all of the weary travellers. Excellent.

This is a very comfortable and spacious house in quiet and attractive countryside. Beds were all made up and there was a good supply of clean towels. Drying up clothes were also provided. There are fantastic sea views and the sun setting off the coast of Anglesey is a sight to behold. The owner was very helpful and friendly at all stages of the booking and welcomed us to the property. We had a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful location with view of the fields and sea. A great sized and spacious property for a large family or group. Owner friendly and easy to contact. Listings not quite as stated as there was no drier which I think was essential due to Welsh weather! Other than this we would not hesitate to go again.

Nice house. Well proportioned rooms. Large well fitted kitchen. However, only HAND towels provided, broken fittings in the bath/shower rooms, broken outside waste pipe that discharges onto the patio. Never saw the landlord once whilst we were there. Overall a feeling that the owner didn't really care about quality.

Response from Ifor:
Dear Derek Thank you very much for taking time out of your busy day to send me your feedback and comments about your stay with us at Cilcoed Uchaf Cottages. We take guests reviews very seriously. Thank you for your kind and positive comments regarding our house and I’m glad that you enjoyed your stay with us on the whole. I can only profusely apologise for the lack of towels provided, this is not standard practise and simply down to human errror and an oversight on our behalf. We normally offer hand as well as body towels to our guests. When guests are on holiday in our cottages, we like to leave you to enjoy the peace an tranquility on offer. I could not be on site to personally greet you on this rare occasion due to a very close family member being ill in hospital, but I did not want to disturb you the following day either when I returned. The curtains were drawn and all cars parked up - so I assumed a knock form me would have been unappreciated incase you were sleeping in or relaxing. I, or a member of the family was only a phonecall away if there was a problem and this is noted and stressed in our guest information folder provided in the cottages. With you being such a large group, I can only assume maybe that the lady I spoke to forgot to mention that she saw me! I engaged in a conversation with her where she told me ‘all was fine.’ This would have been the perfect opportunity to tell me of the broken items and the lack of towels you state in your report and I could have acted immediately to right the wrongs. Our cottages are busy and let out most of the time, our routine checks recognise any obvious problems but we do kindly expect guests to tell us if things aren’t functioning as they should so we can rectify matters immediately. I feel it is rather harsh of you to say that 'the owner did not really care about quality' since we are a very small family run business and customer care is paramount to all we do. I hope you found us an ideal location for a group of your size wanting to explore the Lleyn Peninsula and Snowdonia and I would welcome the opportunity to welcome you personally should you consider a return visit sometime in the future. Thank you , IFOR

The place is quite remote, and that is what I choose. The roads are narrow to reach there for the last mile or two. Without your own vehicle you cannot reach there unless you have a prior arrangement of a taxi. The house is located in such a place that you can see Irish sea and to the far the land of Ireland. Around this house there are couple of houses, that means we aren't alone and very quiet at the same time. Big living rooms, 4 comfortable bedrooms and 4 bathrooms which were kept very clean. The check-in and check-out was no non-sense. 10 of us stayed here for 2 nights and we all liked it. Good view of sunset from the house either from the living room downstairs or from the bedrooms in the first floor. Would love to stay here again if I happened to go near Snowdonia area. Thanks Ifor for making our stay comfortable.

Thank you for your kind review. I think you might have been using the wrong road to reach the courtyard of 3 cottages as the correct road is only half a mile from the village where you will find a petrol station, local shop, public house and main coastal road, (15 min walk). I am delighted that you all enjoyed yourselves. Regards Ifor
