We are located 1 kilometer from the Tenorio´s National Park in Costa Rica where the majestic Rio Celeste is located, the hotel has eight rooms, a restaurant and the spa for massages or other treatments.

The hotel is very small but comfortable and quiet, where you just can get connection with the nature and relax with the birds sound during all your stay.

The space

The rooms are basic but have everything you need, one or two beds, fan, hot water, mosquito net, Tv and bedside table.

We would definitely recommend this place. The location was perfect; we walked to the park entrance from the hotel. Elias was very helpful and thoughtful. The rooms are modest but the property was gorgeous.

Don't be deceived by the name - there wasn't much to explain the 'spa' aspect - we stayed in a somewhat rustic room with a tin roof (which was unfortunate during the torrential downpour overnight). The hosts were very friendly and kind, and there was a funny parrot who imitated a car alarm for much of the morning. Breakfast was tasty, and is included in the price. Nothing else is, though. We did not feel that this place was worth the $70 we paid to stay here (1 night!) -- we expected a place with a lot more creature comforts for that price, and it was more basic than we anticipated. Also, we had a car, and 4-wheel drive is an absolute necessity to get here -- the road leading to this "hotel" is quite rough at times. We had pretty terrible weather, and it seemed not to be unusual to get torrential downpours and fog creating 10 meters of visibility.

We had a wonderful, short stay at the Posada Rio Celeste Hotel & Spa! I contacted the host via AirBnB the night before & he was very responsive. I booked it that night & arrived the next morning with no problems. They even called us while we were on our way up to make sure we didn't get lost. The room had everything we needed, such as mosquito nets, hot water, tv & 3 beds (for 4 people). The wifi didn't work much, but then again, why would you be online when you should be exploring the forest! Although they didn't have to, they drove us to the National Park b/c we had tire issues w/ our car. Breakfast was included, & all other meals were available for purchase. We ate there both nights. It was typical meals which included rice, beans, coffee, drink & dessert. You pick the meat. It is a lovely spot. l would definitely recommend to friends & family. Thank you Posada Rio Celeste Hotel & Spa!

Christine y Jeremy
