Incorrect address given was 1km away (and the owner there said it is definitely THEIR address). Before you leave (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) search Mon Desir, Bangalore for the map location, it's near Dyu Art Cafe and Peter England. On saying the address needs updating I was told it's correct and made to feel stupid for going elsewhere, but the next AirBnb guest had the same trouble. The neighbourhood is excellent, a bit far from the centre, but it's safe and you can walk around and go to many cafés, a mall, parks, etc. The place has a cheerful but rundown vibe. Nice greenery, but a fair amount of junk around and not well maintained. It's all ground floor which was great for moving my heavy luggage. My room had an empty water bottle and used ear cotton tips on a shelf. The bathrooms were maintained well by guests, but there were a few creatures in there like a 20cm worm, snail, etc. The rooms are all very small, but still okay. The mattress is Indian style hard, but still comfortable. Second morning Nalini was away and no (included) breakfast was provided to any guests, and no provisions left. The kitchen was unhygienic so I preferred to eat outside anyway. While she was there I saw one guest leave and a second arrive with no changing of sheets, I saw her sieving coriander seeds full of weasels to use in cooking for guests, and dishes soaking for days in mouldy water and tea was served to me in very dirty cups. The first night no one remembered to lock up so the hostel was open, but nothing happened. Nalini said don't worry she has broken CCTV cameras to deter intruders and the police station is close by. My room (closest to the street) had no lock from the inside. I wedged my luggage against my room door to feel secure to sleep. On the 2nd morning (when the hostel was locked) it had moved suggesting someone from in the hostel had tried to open the door. Outside my room was total darkness and on my arrival Nalini asked someone to replace a lightbulb. It wasn't done so unlocking the external padlock was always difficult. Bangalore has water stopped every 2nd day and water is stored in tanks for the off days. This was not explained in any way. Water ran out the day after I left, luckily not affecting me. Nalini is cheerful and talkative, but tried to convert me to her guru and was a bit too much to handle. After leaving Nalini sent me unsolicited (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) political/religious messages and requests tell my friends she does distance healings for $2/hr. This place has potential but the host is not managing it well at this stage. There were some personal matters for Nalini so maybe services will improve soon. My passport and visa was not photocopied as is usual in this state, so that was one less hassle.

Response from Nalini:
Firstly, Thank you for taking time to leave such a huge review. Here are few fair counters from my end: Incorrect address- Alright, so we tried our best to fix this issue with the post office but it's going to take a while. (None of my guests had this problem, all they did was put 'Mon desir' on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) navigation and it got that home simple as that dear :) 20 cm WORM- Since i am all about greenery and have a garden at my backyard it attracts few worms during the season (it's science) i'm sure they're tiny enough to harm a person :) Smaller room- You should have asked me right there and then, I'd have guided you to a bigger one :) No Breakfast- You were on a discount rate :) CCTV- We do have a CCTV but not yet activated, Since were located in a prime location and the police station is just a stone throw away we never felt the need for one :) Locking the gates- You slept early dear,(when you saw the hostel unlocked) we usually wait for all guests to arrive before we lock :) Water shortage- In summers the whole Bangalore faces water shortage. But we do take some precautionary measure by storing the reserve surplus, All our guests were out of water is because you ended up washing your clothes in the machine (UNINFORMED) Convert you to my GURU- Since iam a shiv yogi, i was taught to help the needy. My apologies if you have mistaken me. (SAMASTHA LOKHA SUKHINO BHAVANTHU) (Let the whole world live happily) So, i live by these policies Authenticity, integrity, responsibility and enriching HOPING TO SERVE YOU BETTER NEXT TIME :)

I can't live without a healthy balanced diet, my spiritual practice, my children (although they are adults now and live on their own), and my plants. I would love to visit Norway and Mount Kailash. I enjoy listening to music. My favourite food is South Indian, Mexican and Chinese.

My life motto is to bring the awareness - Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (Sanskrit phrase which means "the world is one family")

I inhale u exhale - I exhale n u inhale - vibrations - energy - mass, how to tap the Cosmo's, how to be one with devine, how to meditate, how to get sanjeevini shakthi (devine life giving energy) - 21 days in-house workshop for everyone including my guests.

My favorite movie is Lucy.

Shivyog is my favorite show's given by my guru (master) dr.shivanand all over the world who's the father of Indian healing.

My guest's can experience Goan style home stay in da heart of the city. They become part of my family n use the devine energy to heal themselves. If they wish to be a healer I can show them the path which is given by Cosmo's as a gift to me n I would love to share it with them. Seek it shall be given to the seeker! After all we share one planet. I can help them to experience oneness, or I can guide them to find their bliss through spirituality if they wish so.

Simple living - high thinking.

My daughter is India's first female skateboarder n other daughter is a writer.

I like to travel with spiritual people, stay at Airbnb guest house which is away from the city.

I bow down to the divinity within you.

Namah Shivay.
