This is a quiet, peaceful area. That's why we are here. No wild parties, but a BBQ & campfire are great. Wood available for sale at gas station. There is a gas grill. Treat my belongings nicely & no wet clothes on the furniture please! Otherwise, relax and enjoy the serenity, that's why you're there.

This is a well worn and rustic, but charming waterfront cottage that we stayed at for a weekend. Waking up and seeing the Lakeview can't be beat. We hope to return and do some more kayaking.

I would give this 12/10 if possible. 40 mins from downtown Portland but an entire world away.

Sabbathday Lake is lovely, the cottage sits right on the edge- could not have a better view. The cottage is rustic, and not updated- part of the charm. Definitely a cabin in the woods. There are several close-by, small restaurants in Gray and Poland Springs, which we enjoyed. It was a fun weekend, went canoeing on the lake and sat of the small deck in the morning for coffee and watched the Loons in the lake and the birds in the feeder. Lovely.

A great place for a Maine vacation. A beautiful lake. Close to Portland and the ocean, as well as the mountains to the west. The cottage is a short walk from a sandy beach, perfect for kids. There's a dock and kayak, too. Paula takes good care of the cottage. It's a very pleasant place to stay.

Paula was fantastic. She was very responsive and patient with all my questions. The cottage is a pebble's throw from the water and I spent most of my time sitting on the settee in front of the sliding glass windows watching the lake, the sunset, and the nesting phoebes. Paula was also generous with her kayak. I had a wonderful paddle the morning of my departure. The bed is comfortable, and the loons "sung" me to sleep every night. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything I needed to make a meal. All in all a very pleasant stay. Thank you, Paula!
