This magical home offers a slice of island living most never expect of Hong Kong. A spacious bedroom with shared kitchen, bathroom, large living and dining room and exceptional outdoor space, all nestled on top of a secluded cove facing the South China Seas.

We have a second guest room available at: https://www.airbnb.com/manage-listing/9395383

The space

Welcome! After a peaceful walk up Peak Road (no cars on Cheung Chau) you will be rewarded with a unique detached 1950's home nestled above a scenic cove. This spectacular home offers tranquility and unparalleled views of the South China Seas, whether reading in the hammock , watching the brown kites nesting in the casuarina trees or enjoying breakfast at one of the garden tables.
At night, waves will lap you to sleep and in the morning you'll be woken by birdsong.
This south facing home is ideal for short or longer breaks, for couples or singles who desire a refreshing and peaceful holiday.

We have two guest rooms available. The second room is listed at: "Sublime setting, a room with a view"

Guest access

One of two guest bedrooms, this south-facing room is equipped with a queen sized bed, a large built-in wardrobe, air-conditioner and hair-dryer. Directly opposite the bedroom, you will have access to a bathroom with shower. You have access to all the outdoor space, the kitchen, living room and pool room.

You are welcome to come and go as you wish, as you will be given your own keys.

A designated tea/coffee table is in the kitchen for guests where they can help themselves to the variety of tea infusions, coffee and snacks.

The conservatory pool is ideal for cooling down in the hot humid Hong Kong summers.

You have access to the outdoor space.

You are welcome to come and go as you wish. There is no curfew.

Interaction with guests

If we're around we are always happy to help with what to see/go/eat on Cheung Chau and in Hong Kong.

But we will stay out of your way.

Other things to note

We are happy to provide our guests with a light breakfast, on request.

We have two young dogs - Ella and Pepper. Like all dogs when they hear the front gate / door open they will bark but will stop once they see you. Ella is very friendly and once you are in the house she will have already made friends with you. Pepper is younger but bigger. She's well-behaved and likes to do her own thing.

There are a number of steps leading down to the house from the front gate which may be an issue for wheelchair users.

The location of Yen and Robin's place, hidden away on Cheung Chau island, isn't so much charming as enchanting! This kind of quiet peace amongst trees and overlooking the sea is rare enough in any city, let alone Hong Kong. I would characterise my visit as perhaps like staying with your favourite auntie and uncle. I am full of gratitude for the kind, generous warm hospitality as well as genuine interest in ensuring I had everything I needed. In terms of tips that might help other travellers, other than the "don't hesitate and book now" cliché, I would probably mention: 1) The house is uphill from the ferry. Therefore try to pack light. 2) Be sure to go for sushi and tea at the Hometown tea house. If you have time, stop by for a photo and chat; and sign the guest book as well. 3) The internet on Cheung Chau has a reputation for being patchy by HK standards, particularly during storms. By European standards it was more than adequate for accessing files over the company VPN. 4) Try to visit mid-week when the island is practically devoid of other visitors. You could have the beach to yourself!

Yen and Robin's house is an amazing place that it is hardly find among other Bnb in Cheung Chau. It is spacious, lively, magnificient view of the sea from the terrace and your room's window. We follow their advice to have dinner at a local sea food restaurant. Its price is so reasonable and food is bundle and yummy

It's a suprise to stay in Yen's house, it is clean, bright, with artistic decoration, we can feel the host has good sense of art, and the great passion towards life. Yen is kind and patient, she gave us detail guide so we find the house easily, when we get home, she prepared things we might need, and nice breakfast for us. The place is 10min's walk to the ferry pier or to the beach & swimming site. We can see the sea scene from our room, also we can sitting in the yard, watching the wave hitting the rock, it's a great experience. Thank you Yen, you made my day!

It is a beautiful place, with a beautiful view. Yen and Robin are realy Nice, open minded people who know what you want when you're on holiday. They give you privacy, but help you with advice when you need it or ask for it. In Cheung Chao there are a lot of very Nice restaurants, you can easily reach by foot. Yen and Robin have two young dogs, you .

Yen & Robin are spectacular host of the house, they provide wonderful and extremely well hospitality to us. E.g. Making breakfast, giving fruits, exchanging culture, etc. This house faced with a overview for a corner of the sea in this island, it is enjoyable for visitors to do anything at the yard of their house when facing the sea. And there are two lovely and friendly dogs, Ella and Pepper, both of the dogs are nice to people, you don't have to be afraid of being bite by them and it would be wonderful if you are a dog friendly person. The bathroom is quiet clean, shampoo and shower gel are supplied, also clean towers. Robin have so many ideas for recommending trip routes or restaurant, you could ask him if u haven't make any plans. I would say this is a fabulous place to take rest when enjoying vacation. Best place ever!
