New Forest retreat in the heart of the National park, relax on your own veranda overlooking the 4 acres of woodland garden. Soak in the sounds of the forest and watch the deer strolling through. A good base for exploring the beautiful New Forest.
Our property is situated down a unmade private lane, and sits in four acres of woodland garden, it feels as if you are miles away from any towns, yet New Milton is less than ten minutes drive. Our local village store in Bashley provides for all your needs. It has a delicatessen, and a good selection of wine and beers, also there are two popular farm shops within easy reach, selling fresh produce.
Lymington, Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Burley and Ringwood are approximately fifteen minutes drive, we are approximately half an hour drive from Southampton or Bournemouth.
Its a great location to access the forest, for walking, cycling and riding, and we are very close to the sea for swimming, fishing or watersports approximately 15 minutes drive.
Its also a wonderful location for relaxing and getting away from it all.
The apartment is attached to our home, and has its own access. the main living space is open plan with hall way leading to large Shower room and bedroom and double doors opening onto private veranda with comfy seating and gas BBQ over looking the garden
We have two dogs Blu and Noah who are very young and friendly, but will bark at strangers; also three large cats Genghis, Cottie and Dd who may say hello. We do not allow them into the apartment incase any of our guests suffer with alleges.
Pam (Grandma) has two Jack Russell's Nelly and Henry who are also very friendly.
Guests have their own parking by the side of the apartment.
The apartment has wheelchair access but unfortunately not into the bedroom
We love our garden and welcome you to explore, there are seating areas to sit and read or to just enjoy the surroundings.
The chickens enclosure, is out of bounds. I aways have eggs so please ask if you want some.
Interaction with guests
John, and I grew up in this area and are always happy to share our knowledge of the New Forest, also my mother who lives with us has lived in the New Forest for 60 years and is always happy to help
We often have a small bonfire and BBQ in the summer, feel free to join us for a beer.
Other things to note
We welcome our guests with a hamper consisting of, Tea bags, fresh ground coffee, sugar, pastries, milk, butter and fresh eggs and salt and pepper.
We supply Eco friendly washing up liquid and cleaning products, because we are not on mains sewage and have to be environmentally aware.
We ask our guests not to smoke indoors.
The animals are not allowed in the apartment because of guests allergies'
On a fine day you will find us in the garden. John will be maintaining the grounds or watching the Grand Prix. Mo will be tending her live stock, and Bridie is a typical 13 year old and will be found staring at her screen, when she's not playing with the animals or out with her pony. Idyllic. We are generally around if you have any questions, we are happy to help. You may need to come and find us.
