Hera House has the ambiance of a European B&B. This upstairs suite with private entry is one block from popular Lower Greenville Ave. Especially recommended for guests with allergies & guests who want a peaceful sanctuary with many walkable amenities. LGBT & gay friendly.
Originally built as a boarding house in 1925, Hera House is the home of its 3rd generation owners, who live downstairs. Guest accommodations are a private upstairs suite and bath with private entrance accessible by passcode. Hardwood floors, high ceilings, full-sized tub and glass doorknobs are among the vintage charms you'll enjoy in this space that has been updated for modernity without obscuring its warm, vintage authenticity.
Hera House is a hybrid of vintage and modern styling with a touch of designer funk.
Bedroom has a brand new solid mahogany queen-size platform bed with new foam mattress and low-allergen pillows (no down feathers). Luggage rack. Cedar lined closet holds the extra blankets, hangars and empty shelves entirely for your use. Living room/work station has comfy chairs, table, desk. Both rooms are sunlit and have plentiful windows that open. Private bath with full-size tub, a window that opens and dimmer switch lighting. WiFi. Small fridge, electric kettle, microwave, coffee maker and complimentary Seattle's Best coffee.
This house is especially recommended for people with allergies: wood floors, low VOC paint, scent-free cleaning products, 100% cotton linens, no pets.
Hera House is a house that breathes: rooms open off a main stairway with a ceiling fan. No central air, no dust-catching air ducts. Each room has its own A.C. and heater (so you control the temperature).
We make a sincere effort to maintain a dust-free space, so same-day reservations aren't always possible. Of course, if this amenity isn't important to you, we will always consider requests for last-minute reservations.
Upstairs is your dedicated, entirely closed-off space that is a duplex-style dwelling. The owners' residence is downstairs, so we'll always be available to help when needed. You have your own entrance with electronic keypad lock.

Other things to note
About Parking ::
You're welcome to share our driveway overnight as long as you check with us to make sure our schedules align. Parking on the street is usually open during the day, but gets competitive in the evenings and on weekends. It's a Resident Only Parking district Wed–Sat so a parking tag is needed. I can loan you one if sharing the driveway doesn't work out.
Business Guests ::
Hera House is a great place to stay if you want to conduct small meetings while you're in Dallas. Your space includes a room dedicated as a work room/consultation room/sitting room. Ideal for therapists and other one-on-one business transactions. Note: No chemicals or wet materials. No makeup artists.
We ask for your generous contributions of peace and love to help us maintain our mellow atmosphere. Quiet hours are between midnight and 9am.
Because Hera House is an environment suitable for people with allergies, we request that you not use aerosol sprays or strongly scented products. (We might use a few drops of essential oil as an air freshener unless you ask us not to).
All guests must be on the reservation. No third-party reservations allowed.
Check out is at noon. Check in is anytime after 3pm. If no other guests are expected after you, you may check out later. If the room isn't reserved the night before your arrival, we can probably accommodate you earlier.
