Marija and her husband pick us up from Split Airport (40 Kunas). They were both very nice and her husband's English was very good. He was very informative about Split on our journey from the airport.
We were met at the apartment by Marija's mother who was friendly and helpful. The apartment is on the 3rd floor which does mean going up and down quite a number of stairs so something to bear in mind but for us it was fine. The apartment is good value and provided everything we needed. 2 bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, living room and bathroom with shower.
It is within walking distance of the sights of Split being just outside the walls of the Diocletian Palace, it is just around the corner from the National Theatre.
We didn't have a car and found plenty toDiocletian's do nearby (lots of bars and restaurants) and also used the ferries to the islands of Brache and Hvar. There is a road train which you can catch from outside the National Theatre and takes you to Bene Beach in Marjan National Park.
