DINNING IN OR OUT
Breakfast consists of tea (many varieties) or freshly brewed French-press coffee and juice, cereals, toast*/croissants* plus jam/conserves. This is included in your room fee. This western style breakfast is available from *8.30am to 10.30am. You can plan your day's outings over breakfast and we'll be there to help, advise and show you on the map where every thing is.
1. *Breakfast can be earlier, upon request, for an early start booked tour.
2. *Choice can be dependent upon local availability
Additional fresh brewed tea or coffee is available from the kitchen. We have a VERY wide range of teas to choose from and french-press brewed coffee. We also have Nescafe Dolce Gusto Coffee pods for those who need an espresso style hit of caffeine. There is everything from a single shot of espresso through to a caramel machiatto latte or even a Grande Intenso, which is similar to an Americano.
Chilled for your enjoyment, there is a wide range of beers (local & western); soft drinks, juices plus red or white wines. There is also a small range of spirits available that are selected for the tropical drinks or cocktails. So, you can make tropical cocktails or drinks such as Lemon Drops, G&T or use one of the other recipes we have on hand. Prices vary depending upon size of pot, beverage drink or snack chosen but all are very reasonable and generally lower than standard local duty free pricing in bars & restaurants.
If you wish to dine out we can help advise where you can find budget priced local foods, full breakfasts or brunches and right up to high end European standard fine dinning but at low island prices.
Although it is specified we can only currently host 2 people, we are able to provide additional sleeping arrangements for 1 or 2 children. It must be noted though that the premises are not to be considered to be child-safe and all children must be fully supervised at all times. (The pool has no fencing and is fully accessible from anywhere in the entire villa.) We also do have children's channels available on cable TV and some DVD's suitable for either adults or children.
Folding cot, single bed or Asian style floor mattresses are all available at an additional cost.
Depending on your budget and what you wish to visit while on Langkawi, you will need to hire a car or scooter to get around. There are taxis or small taxi buses but the villa is 20 minutes outside of the main town of Kuah and about 5 minutes by car from the main beaches of Pantai Cenang or Pantai Tengah.
If you are here only 1 or 2 days, a chauffeur driven car, which could be hired for several hours, plus taxis may be a good budget option for getting around and visiting the main tourist highlights such as the cable car.We can discuss your options via email once you make a booking. We also have a scooter available for hire to guests.
We will also send you an information package on what the island has to offer which will include brochures, maps and food information. There will also be some links to websites so you can do a little of your own homework to see what you want to do while here. We can also assist with airport transfers, hire cars, tour bookings and anything else you need. We only recommend reputable services so you can be assured of quality at all times.
You will have access to most of the villa and it's facilities. Which are the pool deck area and public outdoor areas, the kitchen with its selection of wines, beers, soft drinks and spirits plus most sun terrace areas. As there is only one other room available for guests, you will most likely have the pool to yourself for most of the time. You also have your own private courtyard terrace area off your room which is exclusive for your own use.
With prior arrangement, cooking is available in a very well equipped kitchen, with most large and small appliances available. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves.
We also have a washing machine and dryer if you need to use them. There are small nominal charges to cover costs.
Interaction with guests
As we also live in the villa, we are always available to assist with planning which tourist attractions to visit and when is the best time to do so. We can also help with hiring a car or calling taxis plus all the other minor things that always requires local knowledge. We suggest you put (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) on your phone as wifi is available all over the island and it is an easy way to contact us if you need help or advice.
The villa cats, Kitty and Ginger, are unusual, they LIKE people and are very good tempered though they will demand attention if you stop patting them. Ginger really really likes feet, especially men's feet. They are not permitted in the bedrooms.
Ruban is our very old Standard Long-haired Dachshund who was brought from Australia with us and his sister, Trixie. (We lost Trixie a few years ago.) This old man is half blind and totally deaf but his nose works very well. When he smells someone new, he'll bark, but once he's checked you out and had a pat, you will be considered part of his family.
Other things to note
Check in and out times are flexible and can be made to suit your flight times.
These times are specified in case we need to do a priority cleaning service of a room for a new guest arriving on the day you are leaving.
If this happens, you will need to vacate your room by 9am but you still can enjoy the villa's facilities, such as having a leisurely breakfast or a swim in the pool, until you need to catch your flight. Perhaps even spend a last morning at the beach and leave your baggage with me until it's time to go. We also have an additional bathroom in which you can freshen up or shower before you leave for your flight.
For the same reason, check-in is generally flexible. If there is a back-to-back booking and your room isn't ready, you are welcome to drop your bags off, go for lunch or even start your island exploration. Just before you arrive, we can discuss your itinerary to see what you want to do during your stay.
1. You can have drinks while swimming in the pool but plastic cups must be used. No glass is to be used while in the pool. This rule is for everyone's safety. Imagine trying to find a piece of broken glass in the water??? Impossible!!
2. Some low level lights are left on at night in case you need to go to the kitchen. If you have still not come back to the villa before management has gone to bed, outdoor lights will be on so you can see clearly and get safely inside. Once you are in the villa, it is expected that you turn the higher level of lighting off and leave only the low level lighting on.
3. Smoking is allowed anywhere except in the bedroom. I provide ashtrays as you require them.
4. A wide range of beverages are available for guests. (soft drinks, wines, beers, coffee, teas, spirits and mixers) Except for specialty items, and with prior arrangement, no outside purchase of stocked items are allowed in the guest fridge.
5. I have a dog who has full access to all areas of the villa except for the guest bedrooms. The kitchen is none halal though the breakfast I serve is prepared from ingredients that do meet halal requirements. You are advised that this may raise concerns for some people. If you are concerned about these issues, I respectfully advise that you should not book with me.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.

I'm a semi-retired Australian expat living in Malaysia with my husband; who is a helicopter pilot and travels a great deal. We have spent the last 3.5 years supervising the building of our villa on Langkawi and we finally moved in November 2012. As with any new building, there is much work to do to soften the landscape with lush tropical plants and make this our home.
Our children both live and work in Australia still but our fur-kids came with us. Ruban our standard long-haired Dachshund, is very much part of the family and, once he has met you, he will welcome you into our home.
Ruban is going blind so he'll always bark when he sees someone but, being a true hound, once he knows your smell you will always be welcomed home. He is intelligent and knows exactly how to communicate and manipulate me into giving him his daily bone earlier than he should get it.
Ruban adds a great degree of security to both myself and the villa. As a hound, his keen nose will pick up the tiniest waft of a strange smell and he has already stopped monkeys from entering the property several times.
Kitty and Ginger are typical Malaysian cats. I have never come across cats that crave human company like these 2 do. Both arrived unexpectedly and took up residence like only a cat can do
