The Master suite offers lavish and tasteful accommodation within this beautiful 18th century French manor house. Rest, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the house grounds and surrounding countryside.
The Master suite, accessed via the first floor, is a very spacious double room with large en-suite. The bedroom offers views of the surrounding countryside out from the front of the house, with the en-suite having views of the fields and forest behind the property.
This room provides both a relaxing and romantic setting for any holiday and with a beautiful oak king-size sleigh bed and mattress, a very peaceful and soothing night’s sleep. The room also contains a good-sized oak wardrobe with hanging space, as well as an oak dressing table and mirror.
The space found in the bedroom is also replicated through to the luxurious bathroom, itself offering a freestanding cast-iron bath, heated towel rail, twin hand basins, toilet, bidet and large separate walk-in shower. An end-of-day soak in the bath before dinner, with the rays of the setting sun coming through the window is guaranteed to remove any lingering thoughts of stress and work.
If there is the need to accommodate children as well, this room can take one, even two extra temporary beds, without impacting space to any great extent. There is a supplemental charge of €10/night for each additional bed.
Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the room.
Guests have full access to the house, their room and lounge, as well as access to Chez Jallot's own large garden. Guests are provided with a set of keys on arrival and have full responsibility for these keys for the duration of their stay. Lost keys will be charged at €10 per set.
For those guests who are less mobile, please be aware that access to the Master suite can only be made via a flight of stairs (17 steps) with single handrail. Cars can be driven around the back of the property where there is an entrance into the house at ground level negating the need to use the front steps into the house.
Chez Jallot also has numerous cellars under both the house and barn that can be made available to guests for the storage of items such as mountain or road bikes.
Other things to note
Breakfast is included in the cost of the room and our guests can start the day with a choice of;
• Cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit
• A selection of fresh breads, croissants and pastries
• A variety of cold meats and cheeses, as well as homemade jams and marmalade.
• A selection of fruit juices
• An assortment of teas and coffee
Although there is a selection of restaurants in the area from which to choose (recommendations can be provided), a pleasurable evening meal can also be taken with Chez Jallot’s hosts, Peter and Jenny and other guests, which with a broad range of nationalities visiting Chez Jallot, can be an interesting and engaging occasion.
The evening’s schedule will begin with aperitifs, either in the lounge or if weather permitting, outside on the patio, followed by a 3-course meal served with wines followed by tea and coffee served in the lounge to end the evening. Whenever possible, local produce will be used in the preparation of the meal which could also include homegrown produce from the Chez Jallot vegetable plot. The cost of the meal is €28 per person. For children under 12, the cost will be €14.
During summer periods when the weather is good, guests, if they so wish, are also welcome to use the outside barbecue facilities to cook their own meals.
We ask that you please take care of our home. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages that you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur, especially if you accidentally spill something – it’s much easier to clean if we know what it is and act quickly. We do not normally charge for breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant.
Additional costs such as meals at the house, extra cleaning, etc. incurred during the rental period are to be paid in Euros prior to departure.
For the comfort of all our guests, we operate a strict non-smoking policy throughout the Chez Jallot house and gites. Any offending guest may be asked to leave immediately (night or day). Smoking is permitted in a designated area of the garden and cigarette buckets are provided in this area. Please note that smoking elsewhere in the garden, particularly during a dry period is a potential fire hazard for the surrounding woodland, so we ask those who do smoke outside, to please confine themselves to the designated smoking area.
Other than guide dogs, we do not allow any pets in the bedrooms or eating areas within the house. We accept well-behaved pets in our gites, provided they are cat and dog friendly, as a number of our close neighbors have cats, dogs and other animals that have to be taken into consideration. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Chez Jallot is a chambres d’hôtes and table d’hôtes property and we are available throughout to help our guests with their needs and requests. We can also provide recommendations for both places to visit, see and do in the area.
Both English and French are spoken by the hosts.
