We were greeted by Guillaume at the street entry and given an excellent tour of the apartment - including assistance with our luggage! We felt that we were being welcomed warmly and in a very friendly manner, and given a quick but informative introduction to nearby restaurants, stores, metros, boulangeries, and tourist attractions. We enjoyed several meals at restaurants on Saint Blaise. The apartment was comfortable and quiet for our two-week stay, and the excellent electric heating was much appreciated with the cool fall weather. The upgraded kitchen and bathroom/toilet served us very well. We enjoyed the view of the green foliage of the next-door park from our windows. Guillaume's apartment gave us a very good home-base away-from-home.
We stayed for a month in Guillaume's flat, and highly recommend it for a relaxing and comfortable extended stay in Paris. First of all we were warmly and efficiently greeted by Guillaume's mother, Catherine. Throughout our stay she was helpful and responsive to our needs, as well as sharing with us interesting facts about the history of the area. We met her twice at the little brasserie next door for a drink, and really enjoyed her company. While she lives next foor she was never intrusive - but always available and willing to assust us. The flat itself is much nicer and larger than it appears in the photos. It has recently been fully renovated, and is clean and well designed. The location is beautiful in a quiet, and gorgeous little "passage", so typical of Paris. Looking out onto the public garden and the school opposite, you can easily imagine you are living in a lovely little French village - because that's what it was, until incorporated into Paris! We have never stayed in the 20th before, but were very pleasantly surprised. The transport to the centre of Paris was excellent - 76 bus goes to Bastille, Rue de Rivoli, all the way to the Louvre. Also easy walks to two metro lines, snd the Tram. We often just walked into the Centre, enjoying all the great neighbourhoods on the way. Plenty of good supermarkets, boulangeries etc within 2 blocks. The neighbourhood also has a range of excellent, and inexpensive little restaurants practically on your doorstep in Rue San Blaise, and more at an easy walk up to Gambetta. We would definitely return to this flat - don't be fooled by the price - it is very nice - great value! Thank you Guillaume and Catherine for allowing us to share this beautiful little oasis.
