The l'Atelier gite offers space and independence within the grounds of a beautiful 18th century French manor house. Rest, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the house grounds and surrounding countryside.
This is one of two self-catering gites offered at Chez Jallot, which have been built into an adjoining barn on the side of the main residence. This spacious gite is on the first floor of the barn and accessed via a set of outside wooden steps leading to a wooden platform containing a garden table and chairs. From here is a private entrance leading into the gite, which offers a large lounge/dining area, well equipped kitchen, two good-sized bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed the other a twin and a modern bathroom containing walk-in shower, toilet, washbasin and heated towel rail. Heaters are installed to remove any evening chill. For the larger family or group, an extra single travel bed can be made available upon request.
The kitchen contains all the necessary implements to prepare good meals, including electric hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, slow cooker and microwave oven, as well as sufficient saucepans, cutlery and crockery. The gite also has satellite TV and DVD player for entertainment with a selection of DVDs available from the house, as well as a selection of family board games. Ample storage for holiday belongings is available in the various rooms.
Both gites also have access to an adjoining utility room within the barn, offering washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron. Small barbecues are also available upon request.
Guests are able to enjoy meals outside on the private balcony, taking in the views of the Chez Jallot lawn and forest, as well as the surrounding countryside. As with the houseguests, our gite guests have full access to the gardens and amenities such as the sunken courtyard, to use at their leisure.
Guests have full access to the gite including the house amenities as well as access to Chez Jallot's own large garden. Guests are provided with a set of keys provided on arrival and have full responsibility for these keys for the duration of their stay. Lost keys will be charged at €10 per set.
Chez Jallot also has numerous cellars under both the house and barn that can be made available to guests for the storage of items such as mountain or road bikes.
Interaction with guests
Chez Jallot is a chambres d’hôtes and table d’hôtes property and we are available throughout a guest's stay to help with their needs and requests. We can also provide recommendations for both places to visit, see and do in the area.
Both English and French are spoken by the hosts.
Other things to note
Your gite will come with one set of bed linen per week, as well as two sets of towels. In addition, you will also find a welcome pack awaiting you on arrival, containing those immediate necessities such as tea, coffee, milk, jam and bread. There will also be a complementary bottle of wine to open and enjoy on that first evening in the gite.
If you do not wish to cook every night then there is a choice of local restaurants within an easy driving distance of Chez Jallot or if you so desire and pending availability, you will be more than welcome to join the house guests for a meal prepared by Chez Jallot’s hosts. These cost €28 per person and notice should be given no later than a day in advance if you wish to partake.
We ask that you please take care of our home. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages that you cause to the accommodation or its contents. We will make every effort to ensure your gite is clean and fresh for your arrival. On your departure, we ask that you leave the gite as you found it. We ask for a €200 security deposit, which will be refunded provided everything is left in good order. We do not normally charge for breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant.
Additional costs such as meals at the house, extra cleaning, etc. incurred during the rental period are to be paid in Euros prior to departure.
For the comfort of all our guests, we operate a strict non-smoking policy throughout the Chez Jallot house and gites. Any offending guest may be asked to leave immediately (night or day). Smoking is permitted in a designated area of the garden and cigarette buckets are provided in this area. Please note that smoking elsewhere in the garden, particularly during a dry period is a potential fire hazard for the surrounding woodland, so we ask those who do smoke outside, to please confine themselves to the designated smoking area.
Other than guide dogs, we do not allow any pets in the bedrooms or eating areas within the house. We accept well-behaved pets in the gites, provided they are cat and dog friendly, as a number of our neighbors have cats, dogs and other animals that have to be taken into consideration. Please contact us if you have any questions.
