Step back in time to the early 1900's with a touch of modern to boot. You will love the warmth of this apartment, from the Murphy Bed to 1930's penny tile and original hardwood flooring. Live a little Colorado Springs History as you enjoy your stay.
As soon as you walk through the door you will feel like you just stepped into your own home. That's how welcomed you are.
There is a private entrance up the front porch directly into the apartment. There is also a back door to the patio.
No need to worry about getting to the supermarket right away if you arrive late, a breakfast snack is provided. The kitchen is equipped with popular spices, a coffee maker, French press, toaster, blender, gas stove, microwave, and a full size fridge.
The restroom comes with all the soaps you need to freshen up: shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hand soap and towels.
The living room comes with a queen size Murphy Bed for two guests. My first guest was an Airbnb hostess and she said the bed was very comfortable. There is also a DVD player with a few movies. There are local channels to watch on TV but no cable or satellite networks.
High speed Internet is provided to make your stay more convenient. The code is on the fridge and will be in your welcome letter.
Please be aware, the guest below you have their room just below your bed, high heel or heavy walking is a bit noisy on the wood floors.
There is a COIN laundry available on the lower level of the house. A screen door located on the south side of the house leads you to the laundry room, also known as "The Dungeon." Laundry soap is provided.
Parking is on the street or behind the house ( there are two spaces, one for the guest in apt. 4)
A welcome letter will be sent to you a few days before your arrival with access information. I give you the code to enter the apartment at that time. No need to worry about meeting up with me because you do not need a key, it is actually very convenient.
The entire apartment, laundry room, private parking, and back patio is available for your use.
Interaction with guests
Guests will have no trouble communicating with me through text messaging or a phone call. I love hosting and love making life easy for visitors.
I live about 30 minutes away from the apartment but am available and there to help if needed.
Other things to note
This is an entire apartment to vacation in. The house has four apartments. It was converted from a one family house to apartments many, many years ago in the 1930's. Being this is a very old house you do have the characteristics of one. This gem is my favorite apartment my husband and I have remodeled.
I have no cleaning fee so guests are asked to clean up the kitchen and leave as found when you arrived, to help me out a bit.
There is no smoking in the apartment, not even outside on the premises. Even though Marijuana is legal in the state of Colorado there is no Marijuana allowed on the property. Colorado State Law sites that each homeowner has this right to make that decision. Hate to say this but if you are coming to my place to use marijuana you will be asked to leave, Airbnb will not give a refund if you break this rule.
No hair coloring allowed.
Ladies please have mercy on me; use make up remover wipes and not body and hand towels to remove make up. The stains are tough to remove. Also, hiking on red rocks is nice, but stained towels aren't. A dark towel is supplied if you need it.
No partying. No candles.
I know I'm guilty of saying rules are made to be broken but not on Airbnb.
I have lived in Colorado for most of my life and can't imagine ever moving away. However, when it comes to travel, there is always an air of excitement in my house. We discovered Airbnb a couple of years ago when taking our first trip to Europe. We have met so many wonderful people through our travels and owe it to my sweet exchange student from Sweden. I love hosting in my own home, so helping any of my guests at the the Arcadia House by Downtown will be a delight. I love my husband of 31 years, my two sons, and my lovely and smart daughter-in law. I have two wonderful puppies that are getting real big now; just love 'em, they are the coolest.
Photography is a passion of mine so you will never see me travel without my Nikon. I love good food, uplifting conversation, beautiful works of art, sunsets, studying history, deep bible study, and I can put together a pretty amazing digital photo book.
My philosophy is " Love your neighbor as yourself"
