Amazing views from this open floor plan home that offers privacy but is close to everything. Two story great room with floor to ceiling windows and floor to ceiling stone hearth with woodstove. Three bedrooms plus sleeping loft, two full bathrooms.

The space

The floor plan is open and roomy, yet comfortable at the same time. We designed this to be our retreat, so you will find all the furniture to be very comfortable. O.K., we've never slept on the sofa bed, so we can't really attest to that...but the sofa is really comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed and you should be able to find everything you need. We haven't really found any quirks that you need to look out for. Hall linen closet is where we store our personal items. We have a snow removal service we use and they will be along if 2" of snow has fallen.

Guest access

You are renting the entire house. We do have a locked linen closet in the main floor hall. This is where we store some of our personal items. The laundry room is also locked (sorry)...Joe stores his extensive tool collection here (he is a very accomplished wood worker and has done a lot of the wood work in the house).

Interaction with guests

Please call us if you have any problem during your stay. We will want to resolve them right away! We want you to be comfortable and enjoy all Lake Placid has to offer!

Other things to note

Lake Placid is very safe. We have the added safety of being on a small private road. On arrival, our cleaning crew will have unlocked the house for you. You will find a key on the kitchen counter. Please make sure to leave it at the end of your stay. We had a long term renter whose dog scratched almost every door jam. We have pictures of it, so don't worry if you bring your dog. We know it wasn't your dog that did this. Door will be repaired in late Spring '16.

We want you to have fun and enjoy your time. Whatever that is to you-have at it. We ask that you respect and take care of our property. There is no smoking indoors. We do have an ash tray on the screen porch. If you use it, we ask that you clean it prior to your departure. Please respect the property and the environment and don't litter smoking materials. Make sure to take home all your left over food. We love cocktail hours, so if you must leave your liquor behind, well, we are totally o.k. with that! Certainly not expected though.

My bridesmaids and I had an awesome time getting ready for the big day at Lisa's house. The views made for fantastic photos and Lisa was very helpful in making sure everything ran smoothly.

Lisa was one of the most communicative hosts I've ever stayed with. She was fantastic during the booking process, sent us information far in advance of our stay, and responsive to needs during it as well! Her home is charming and exactly what you'd expect a cabin in upstate New York to be like (in the very best way possible)!

Lovely home on beautiful, quiet road surrouned by trees, wild blueberries growing along the road, and graced by a large, comfy screened in porch, perfect for playing cards or board games with the family while enjoying the fresh air. Large kitchen, well equipped, excellent for cooking, for those days you just want to hang out.

Lisa's place is on a lovely, secluded property just minutes from downtown Lake Placid. Stayed here for a wedding with two other couples and the house was just perfect for a group of six people. The space is cozy, has a well-equipped kitchen and nice windows. The property is large and has nice decks - both screened and outside. Would highly recommend for a stay anywhere in this area!

Wonderful stay! The home is exactly as pictured. It is a short drive from town, feels secluded but you aren't far from Main Street. The host was lovely and responsive. We brought our dogs and they loved the yard and the dog beds that were already there.

What a beautiful home, enough space for our family {eight people}. The proximity to Lake Placid and the Olympic venues meant less time traveling and more time enjoying! Plus the view from the dining area, Whiteface Mountain was SPECTACULAR!

Lisa User ProfileLisa is a superhost.

We are the proud owners of 3 manufacturing businesses in Watertown, NY. You can check us Our first trip to Lake Placid was for Lisa's 41st birthday - we were hooked! This home was the very first one we looked at after deciding to purchase in Lake Placed. Lisa still dragged Joe to about 40 more! Our love of the outdoors, no matter what season, made Lake Placid perfect for our vacation home. Joe spent 15 years being a whitewater rafting guide on the Black River in Watertown and the Moose River in Old Forge. Many retired raft guides and good friends found their way to Lake Placid and are now locals. We love catching up with them during our visits. Joe loves to snowboard and takes it to the extreme, while Lisa is a lot more comfortable on cross country skis or snowshoes. We feel blessed to live in 2 of the most beautiful places on earth, the Thousand Island (or The River, as we call it) and the Adirondack Mountains (and Lake Placid is simply the best place to be in the ADKs). Our dog, Marley, loves Lake Placid and is always excited to get there and visit her mountain friends. We work hard, play hard and really enjoy spending time with our friends and family. Our favorite vacation spot is anywhere we are just enjoying ourselves. We do venture out of New York and have enjoyed San Juan PR, Isla Mejeres Mexico, Europe and the British Virgin Islands. If you go to Isla, make sure to stop by Barlito at the Marina Paraiso Hotel. Great food and give Tiffany and Brad a big hug for us.
