Ray & Angel were the BEST! This was our first Airbnb experience and it was wonderful. Everything was as advertised, the facility is beautiful. Ray & Angel were so helpful in sharing information about the area, restaurants, parks, gardens. We were extremely pleased with the entire experience!

After reading so many 5 star reviews, we were looking forward to a nice stay. The property itself is located on a pretty lot, but the inside scored low on amenities. There was only one chair to sit on in the living room and two bar stools in the kitchen. We went to the grocery to pick up some items so we could fix a few simple meals, but found there was only one large pot and a colander in the way of cooking utensils. I later found a small saucepan being stored in the oven.In the cupboard, there was one drinking glass for two people. I called the host about this and was told to "just use the coffee mugs" for drinking glasses.I also asked about wine glasses, but he said they had been moved upstairs by previous guests and they were working on getting more glasses. He offered to bring some down later, but we went to bed by 8p and they hadn't been delivered by then. There are two bathrooms listed, but there were no towels in one of the bathrooms. I later discovered there was also no hot water in one of the (URL HIDDEN) run a seasonal rental property myself and having rented Airbnb properties in the past, I feel qualified to know what constitutes minimal cooking and bathroom supplies. The host wasn't there when we arrived so I called and he gave me directions on how to enter through the garage which was dark and a bit of a challenge. The check in process could have been easier with a note on the door and supplied instructions on how to enter. While the host was friendly and apologetic, it was not a good stay. My husband was not feeling well and we ended up leaving in the wee hours of the morning, but we most likely would have left the next day even if he had felt well. Staying our second night just wasn't an option. On a positive note, the place was clean. There is a large bookshelf with a host of books, but there is no tv. A tv is not listed as being available, but we hadn't noticed that. That wasn't a big deal, but is worth mentioning.I was told by the host that he would initiate a refund for the second night, but it's been a week and I've seen no sign of that happening either. All in all, it felt like we were more of an intrusion, than Airbnb guests. Although I've had many positive experiences with this service in the past, I will carefully scrutinize any further bookings after this experience.

Response from Ray & Angel:
Ann, showing up without letting us know when you were arriving makes me think that you expected us to wait for you for the whole day at the house to check you in. That is not realistic. I should not have accommodated your impromptu arrival by giving you instructions to get in through the garage. After that first phone call I should have cancelled your reservation, the tone of your voice was very harsh and you just had arrived to my place. Since everything that you are saying is inaccurate (kitchen towels in drawers, additional towels in closets, what you called "coffee mugs" (ceramic glasses) is what everyone else have used to drink water, both bathrooms have hot water, yes a tv is not listed as you later noticed, a couch is not listed, and so forth; it makes me think you did not even bother to read the space description, or read the house rules since you did not follow any. I do not know, as a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) member, what bone you need to pick with Airbnb.

Ray & Angel were wonderful hosts. Check-in and Out was a breeze. Parking was steps from our private entrance making unloading/loading easy. The kitchen was awesome with modern appliances. Our hosts were so accommodating and friendly. Angel gave us his expertly written guide to Tallahassee; we wished we had time to explore all of his suggestions. Our stay was over a week, and we were glad to have a quiet comfortable place to relax and recharge. Our family of four including one child and one dog were very comfortable our entire stay. All amenities were beyond expectations! The property is almost too beautiful for me to describe. Pictures don't capture the magnificence of the trees and the grounds. We would love to stay here again when we visit the area again.

My name is Ray Montalvo and I am a practicing general dentist. Hobbies include gardening, hiking, and playing volleyball. I am owned by two cats, which continually vie for attention. I live with my partner Angel de Armendi. He is a classically trained pianist. He shares my passions for the garden and nature. Angel will most likely take care of check-ins and communication with prospective hosts as his schedule is more flexible than mine.
