About this listing
An old house, in the historical village, finished with the taste for stone, for wood and for the relaxation of a good living, in simplicity and elegance. Located in Alessano, a rich and strategic village in the centuries, at the center for the best destinations in Salento.
The 17th century house is set among the wonderful irregularities of the ancient village of Alessano. It develops several floors, from the ancient underground granaries to the panoramic terrace, ranging from high turned ceilings, local stone floors and wooden lofts.
Designed as a private holiday home, it has been refurbished and refined with taste and attention, even with oriental furnishings.
Crossing the front yard you can head to two different homes. A house is on the ground floor and has two bedrooms with turnstiles and three bathrooms, one with bath (up to 6 beds), more living room, kitchenette, wooden loft and features underground rooms that cross the house and They refresh it. Upstairs another house covers the same perimeter but with a different living concept: the rooms, very large and with vault, were arranged with the sleeping area on the raised wooden lofts, while below it moves Living area, two living rooms and dining room, there are also two bathrooms, a kitchenette, a small courtyard and roof terraces overlooking the old town, between the roofs and belfry of a village comparable to the eastern medines.
Interaction with guests
The house is set in a small street dedicated to Caesar Raho, a philosopher of the fifteenth century who described the city as follows: "A fertile and amenable Peninsula in the Kingdom of Naples lies in the kingdom of Naples, and is a prodigy of happy ingenuity, as any other province in the world, Called on Leucadia, on a delightful hill in the floor of a plan is a very amenable city, gratifying for the goodness of the air, the proximity of the sea, and the fertility of the land, full of naughty pilgrims, fair women, superb Bushes, and very happy and remarkable gardens, called Alessano, the head of that country ... ".
We would love this fabulous atmosphere to accompany our guests along their travels up to here, "Leucadia".
Other things to note
The house has very nice and special details: between the ground floor and the underground, glass slabs allow you to perceive the dislivelli of the house; All the rooms have stone vaults of old, barrel, star, pavilion or cruise; Moroccan stucco was used in the bathrooms; The entrance to the courtyard on the little street is rather small, concealing a much wider and more articulate development of the interior.
