Built in the 1890s, this luxurious, one bedroom flat is unlike anything else you will find in Lexington. Located in the heart of downtown, everything is located just out the front door.

The space

A hidden treasure in the heart of the city. The space has a modern feel in a historic setting. Built in 1897, the building was first purposed as a tavern, and then housed several businesses through the years. In the 1980s, the building was renovated and transformed into two living spaces (this space is the first level). Original hardwood floors and high ceilings add to the charm of this gorgeous urban space.

The center point of the flat is the bedroom. A very large and comfortable King bed awaits you. The bathroom, complete with a marble shower and a deep jacuzzi tub are just a few steps up in an elevated bathroom, with two sink/vanity areas. The living area includes a full queen sofa bed in case you need additional sleeping space. The kitchen is complete with everything you need, including microwave and coffee pot. An additional full bath is adjacent to the living area.

Step out the front door on to city sidewalks, and you are just steps away from shopping, coffee houses, bars, galleries, and Lexington's thriving restaurant scene. Enjoy a stroll through historic Gratz Park, only 1 block away. If you are in town for basketball or concerts, Rupp Arena is only a 15 minute walk (0.7 miles) away. If you are here in the Horse Capital for events at The Kentucky Horse Park, you are only a 25 minute drive away. Keeneland is 7.5 miles away (about 18 mins) and The Red Mile is only 8 mins (1.8 miles) by car. Whatever brings you to town, this is the perfect location to call home for the length of your stay.

At the end of your day or night on the town, step back off the street into your own little hideaway and relax.

Guests have access to the entire apartment, first floor garden area, and garage.

Tarp was an excellent host and the flat far exceeded our expectations. Tarp got us thoroughly checked in despite us being in a hurry to get to a wedding, and the location was absolutely perfect. I definitely recommend booking this place and will again if I'm back in the area!

Tarp's place is perfectly located and wonderfully appointed. Inside is a comfortable and cozy space perfect for relaxing and lazy vacation days. It is beautifully decorated and Tarp stocked the kitchen with all the basics. While it's easy walking distance to most downtown bars and restaurants, it was also quiet and peacefull inside. There is a covered parking space connected to the back which was very convenient because the only bad weather when we were there was a steady rain while we unpacked. Inside the secure outer back door was a covered space for us to keep our bicycles. Tarp met us at the door, showed us around the place, told us where to find everything we'd need, directed us to our parking space around back and left us with the keys. He texted his contact info and several Lexington tips he wanted to mention but his place felt like our private sanctuary while we were there. There's a lovely park just a block away which was very convenient for walking our dogs and which was surrounded by some of Lexington's most historic homes. Tarp's neighbor was very friendly and all but begged us to use the shared stairway to the rooftop deck (where we spent a relaxing morning enjoying 360 degree views of Lexington (and the best donuts ever from Spaulding's Bakery - only a couple minutes away by car - and coffee from Third Street Stuff across the parking lot from our place). When we left, we just put our keys in a bowl by the door and locked the door behind us. Tarp was a wonderful host, his place was a beautiful oasis and was convenient to everything we needed for a relaxing getaway.

My wife and I stayed at this exact location, with Tarp as our host, for our wedding weekend. When our one-year anniversary came up we had no doubt that we wanted to enjoy the space once more. The flat is beautiful and more spacious than you will expect. Though there's a convenient door that opens right onto Limestone St, the flat itself feels very private and set-apart; and street noise is certainly not an issue. The flat is right next door to both shopping and eating, which itself is right next door to more shopping and eating...and, you get the idea: it's an awesome location. Tarp is a great host, very accommodating to your personal schedule, and makes sure you know any peculiarities of the space (location of light-switches, kitchen amenities, etc.) upon check-in. Tarp makes himself available to you throughout your stay in the case of any questions or concerns, and he's also very amenable towards getting any personals you may inevitably forget back into your possession. Both times my wife and I have stayed the fridge and kitchen has been stocked with coffee, fruit, beer, bottled water, energy bars, etc. which really adds to the experience of a luxurious space. We love staying here, and we're sure you will, too
