The space

I have two airbnb rooms that I rent out in my house. This room has a Greek theme to it. From a lady sculpture on the wall to the sky blue and white theme the room feels like a clear blue sky on the Mediterranean.

Guests have access to the living room/dining room Kitchen (limited use. Guest can use toaster tea pot, coffee machine plastic cutlery and paper plates. I keep a kosher kitchen so you need to ask permission before using anything else.) and bathroom. Basically anything on the first floor

I work a lot and am not always home but If a guest ever needs anything I am a phone call and email away. Because I work nearby I will always be around if there is ever an issue. When I make dinner parties for sabbath meals guests are always welcomed. I am always eager to learn about my guests and their backgrounds. I try to balance giving guests the privacy they want while also making them feel like family.

I have lived in Boston my whole life and have loved living near the city, but at this faze in my life I was looking for a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. My home is in a very fancy residential area of Brookline, but so close to cleveland circle and a 15 minute subway ride to downtown. I am also 5 minutes away from the Brookline reservoir where you can go running or walking around the water. There is also a HUGE park behind my house with 9 basketball hoops, 2 baseball diamonds and 4 tennis courts. It's a very special neighborhood and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

The reservoir T stop is an 8 minute walk from my house. It's part of The D line which travels from newton to downtown Boston. The D line is the express train and will get you downtown In 15 minutes. The C line which is also an 8 minute walk runs down beacon st. The B line is a 12 minute walk and runs from Boston college all the way down commonwealth avenue to BU and downtown Boston. I am also 8 minute walk from the 57 bus to Kenmore square (Fenway park) and the 86 to Harvard square in Cambridge. My home is a minute from route 9 so it's great for driving.

GREAT LOCATION! Beautiful neighborhood with a really nice park. Good coffee and a comfy bed! It was great to be in a quiet location and still be so close to good public transportation. Walks in a huge park in the nights and the mornings. Would definitely stay there, again. Enjoy!

Amazing host she really goes above and beyond. She is super nice to chat with and in her demenor and working with you when she can like making sure u are all set. Dont think about it or wait to see what your options are just book the fare is low given something in the area she is in can be easily priced higher and still get guests. The coffee type she had while I was there I had previously heard of the brand but never tried them and am happy i did because it is better than your typical pod made coffee. She leaves fruits and such out you can have for breakfast/snack and has powerful mini fridge and a microwave in the room and she can advise you most likely if you ask about what things are kosher but i only used the main fridge to put an icepack in the freezer and then decided to move it to the mini fridge freezer as it was easier to just let my leg not work when possible plus i had suddenly worried if there were certain ice packs like gel vs clay that one option like that being a difference of if it was kosher or not. So just know ahead what is or if in doubt use the mini fridge is the approach i took as sometimes she is very busy and other times seems to have downtime a lot. Shes relaxed about house rules other than with just closing your bedroom door when you arent in there due to her dog. She has pleasant personality and even tho i hoped to learn more from her in how I could assist with a documentary project that would be simple enough but give me something to do each week like social media promotions every so often or like sending a pre-formatted email to a certain number of people each week something small but still to keep me busy while i was recovering from surgery i had before I staid with her.

Marika's place was a great alternative to spending a ton of money at a hotel. Marika was very kind, helpful and all around a sweet host. I didn't personally have an issue with her cute dog Dot, but for those afraid of dogs, I might suggest looking elsewhere as she barked a bit at us strangers and nipped at my feet when I came home. Marika was on top of it though. The home is about a half mile from the nearest T stop which isn't far, but it felt much further when I was dragging my suitcase, and at night walking alone. The neighborhood was very quiet and seemed the homes were very nice. The only struggle I had was that it wasn't very well lit between the property and the T-stop. In the room there was a mini fridge and a microwave which was nice, but the fridge was loud throughout the night. If you are interested in going into the city via the T, be prepared to have it be packed early mornings and around 5 for the rush, and for it to take about 45 minutes to an hour to get into Boston proper. My check-in process was a little rough around the edges as there was a miscommunication with Marika and her housekeeper, but it seemed like that was rather uncommon. Overall I was satisfied with my stay(as every place has its quirks and issues) and think that Marika was darling and very nice.
