This is an authentic Mongolian yurt, which is fully insulated with sheep's wool and has a woodburner to create a cosy, warm space. There is a double bed and 3 single futons, a well equipped enclosed kitchen, a BBQ and firepit.
The yurt is located in a half acre field to which yurt stayers have exclusive use. The toilet and shower is also yours for the stay. There is a trampoline, swing and goal post for your use.
We provide duvets, pillows, blankets, hot water bottles, candles, firewood and charcoal for the BBQ. You will need to bring either sleeping bags or duvet covers with sheets, pillowcases and towels. We have 2 solar powered lanterns and an electric reading light but would suggest a torch for night time trips to the toilet or shower.
We will always be here to greet you unless we have arranged otherwise, and will usually be around during your stay at our nearby house, and will do our best to answer your questions about the yurt and the area, places to visit, eat etc.
Other things to note
This is essentially a luxury camping holiday so although you'll have proper beds, a woodburner to stay warm and an indoor kitchen, please remember you are in a field and will need to be prepared for all weathers with wellies and waterproofs.
We have a well equipped kitchen a few steps from the yurt, with a 2 ring electric hob, under the worktop fridge, kettle, toaster and a good range of crockery, pans, utensils etc.
This is a quiet area suitable for families and people who would enjoy the outdoors. I'm sorry we do not take bookings for stag or hen weekends but would certainly consider single sex groups who are coming to walk, cylcle or enjoy the countryside and coastline.
We would ask that you don't play radios etc but you are welcome to bring a musical instrument that doesn't require electricity. We value good relationships with our neighbours!
We have a firepit so you are welcome to bring or collect local firewood. We provide wood for the woodburner but ask that you don't put this on the firepit please. We usually have a separate woodpile for the firepit.
As we have children, and neighbours, although not close sound travels so we ask please for no noise after 11pm and before 7am.
Please do not wear wellies or outdoor shoes in the yurt. We recommend slippers or flipflops for comfort on the coir matting.
Please do not bring pets.
There is no smoking allowed on the site.
From Jul 13 - Sep 2, 2018 the minimum stay is 3 nights.
