HISTORY of Woodchoppers Inn
Built in 1890

This is the first house My (Kelly) Great-Great Grandparents built when they first came over to New Zealand. As you walk in the front door straight into the first bedroom the two lads in the pictures on wall are my Great-Uncles, the girl standing in front of the house in the lounge picture is my Great-Grandma Elsie who lived till 95 long years and made the best scones!

The kitchen and bathroom were added in the 80s, traditionally toilet was outside and all cooking was achieved on coal range.

Woodchoppers Inn Cottage is our getaway

Enjoy your stay at our wee historical gem! Check out the local museum and see if you can spot our house and the photo of my two great uncles!
