Tixib, is a small organic/permaculture farm in Tepoztlan.

The cabin is more like a tree house, embeded, so to say, in the luscious forest around it.

Fully equiped kitchen.

Great grill for whatever you think of.

Enjoy hiking or meditating, great for bird watching or just relaxing.

Great night sky.

The space

Cozy wood cabin, with a fire place outside and a terrace to the forest garden.

You will find your self in a farm environment, surrounded by lots of different trees, birds and fabulous volcanic rock formations.

You have an independent entrance, so you may come and goo freely; the main house is a walk away if you need any assitance.

Make sure I will make the best out of your getaway to the forest.

You can access internet via wi fi or ethernet.

Fully equiped, just come and vacation.

The farm project is in need of systems that interact in a sustainable manner within, so, our toilet is designed to work with no use of water; it is commonly referred to as: composting toilet.

Please get information on this system, wikipedia has a good description.

Guest access

The cabin is your very own private space.

You may visit the farm around but remember I live here and appreciate silence, particularly at night.

Often I have friends come to the farm and share around a good fire, have some wine, cold beer, food direct from the grill, play music and just relax, chill out and have great arguments about what ever, mostly great laughs and happiness, you are absolutely welcomed to these gatherings.

Interaction with guests

We have hosted volunteers, students and travelers from many different countries, ranging all ages, in all kind of vehicles and on foot. So we know exactly what to recommend to visit, where to have dinner or a relaxing great massage or sweat lodge ceremony. There are lots of trails to hike, we love to go to the mountain and have our own special sites to visit with extraoirdinary views of the cliffs and mountains around us, that we´d love to share with you. The National Park is our back yard! No kiding.

I go to Tepoztlan alomost everyday, so we can arrange a ride into town, sometimes we can you a ride back into the farm, if our schedule meets.

I can share information on what and where to do and how to do.

Other things to note

Wi -fi is not the best here in the mountain surrounded area, so maybe there will be no internet available, specially during storms and strong wind condition, consider it as the perfect time and place to "...reconect by disconecting..."

Remember we are in the country, "en el monte", meaning it is normal for bugs or "bichos" to be around. They are totally harmless.

We do try hard to keep them away from the instalations, but remember it is us who came to place the farm in their environment. Plus we do not like to overdo control, to the extent of not using if possible any product to get rid of them.

Regularly we use a cup and a piece of cardboard to catch them and let them loose in the garden.

Your trip could be a good chance to visit a small community in the mountains of Mexico, or the pyramid on the top mountain overseing the town of Tepoztlan.

Tepoztlan and its unique folklore and market place with all these colorfull and tastefull meals to savor.

Get some arts and crafts on the weekend market or go to a TEMAZCAL (sweatlodge ceremony) to cleanse and get all your stress out just next doors of the farm with Angel.

There are good places to eat ranging all prices. Good places to visit. good coffee shops, and best of all, the mountain hikes and birds.

The space was really neat! We loved being in the forest and waking up to the view. And the kitchen was fun to cook in. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Guillermo is such a warm and kind and patient host. He is a great source of information about Tepoztlan and the surrounding towns and is a steward of the environment and local ecology. The cabin is very sustainable and comfortable and walking distance from some really excellent and low trafficked trails. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

This cabin is rustic, private and has a great view of the woods all around, from the front porch. Bed is comfortable, there is hot water for showers. To the side of the porch is a campfire for cooking out. Wake up to birds chirping instead of traffic noise. Short walk to bus stop, short ride into Tepoztlan, costs you merely 8 pesos! Taxis pass by frequently also, if preferred. Quiet and private getaway! Host very helpful, speaks English very well. For the right kind of person or couple, this is a rare find!
