Charming-cosy-private: the studio is available for short term holidays during summer months. Cottage style, a compact little cabin with a new(ish) mattress for your comfort but generally with a feel of a retro kiwiana holiday batch.
A great little place for relaxation, situated in a quiet location, a 5 min. stroll from lake and beaches (Bremner Bay). 2-5 min. drive to CBD or approx.30-50 min. walk (2.5 km). It is an ideal base for your self catered, independent action packed/relaxation holidays.

The space
This independent little dwelling is situated on the same property as the Alpinism & Ski mountain and ski guiding company.
Split level, it contains a double bed, toilet/shower, heating, kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, electric frying pan and all other essentials for a holiday flat. The double bed suits a couple but a second bed (the sofa, as pictured, it is not a fold-out couch) can be arranged for a one off fee of $30. There is no baby gear in the studio. If you need any it has to be hired.
Bed linen and towels are provided. Free wi-fi (upgraded to unlimited but please note that it can be very limited and fluctuating lots), street parking and plenty of advice about places to visit and things to do. Cozy, private and comfortable, only 5 min. walk from the lake, 25-45 min. to town center, depending on how many photo stops you'll have.
Sticky Forest and other top quality mountain biking trails are a couple of min. away. You can use the barbeque. We also have a wonderful sauna and garden bath which you are welcome to use, by prior arrangement - a special treat after any activity in our alpine paradise.

Should you wish for two separate beds, a second bed can be set up in the lower half of the studio. The extra fee is $ 30 and you can either pay cash upon arrival or arrange in advance via Airbnb, please communicate about this, thank you.

We also have some hiking accessories which you may wish to borrow – it could be walking poles or an old day pack, a native plant or bird book, maps etc. Just ask and we'll see what we can do.

Wanaka is small and has no public transport as such but taxis are available. If you book activities, there are often courtesy rides available.

If you wish, we could organise a luxury basket, with your favorite milk (organic, soy, almond, rice...), snack bars, fruit, cornflakes, müsli, yogurt, orange juice etc. mint chocolates, bag of coffee, olive oil, paper towels, soap & shampoo - just let me know your preferences, cost min. $50

Iris is originally from Switzerland with a background in tourism/hotel management, settled and living in Wanaka with husband, house and a boutique business of outdoors activities. Mountaineering, rock climbing and instruction courses - fun on skis, trekking excursions and fauna & flora expeditions are part of it plus outdoors occupation from mountain biking, fishing through to sailing keep us busy and happy other times.

The Alpinism Studio-Cottage is a charming extension of our little enterprise in paradise which allows us to meet wonderful people from all corners of the world.
Wanaka is a great - but still small - town for shopping, wine tasting, to indulge in art, browse the galleries, visit the cinemas. You can feel creative and inspired by the beautiful nature. Culinary wise, there are many cafés and restaurants to try and standards vary from fast food to fine dining. Massages, yoga, spas, gyms and other experiences are plentifully available for pampering the body. Be it on land, water or in the air, you'll find many adventurous and/or relaxing things to experience in and around Wanaka. A favorite motto here: Life the Way it Should be:)
