My home has a great open floorplan as you arrive inside. You are met by a gorgeous knotty pine cathedral ceiling and full view of the lake and Columbian Mountain Range coming out of Canada through all the windows in the Great Room. You can step right out the French doors from the great room onto the 3 level deck where you have the most lovely picturesque view in both winter and summer-- plus in summer a table and chairs to sit back and relax while grilling away. (grill large enough for 15 people) In the spring and summer, there can be as many as a couple of hundred Canadian geese, swans (even the occasional pair of Trumpeters) and maybe a bald eagle making the lake their home for the season.
My home has 4 bedrooms along with an extra upscale queen inflatable bed if needed to comfortably sleep 10. Full baths on each floor (3) and the lower finished daylight basement has a queen bedroom and big screen theatre seating and wet bar, with multiple windows enabling you to view the lake/mountains while watching movies/playing games, etc.
Summer fun must include Glacier National Park! The great time you will have includes hiking across Grinnell Glacier in Glacier National Park and seeing nature at it's finest. Spot a moose or snap a photo of a soaring bald eagle in flight while hiking in Glacier. No where else can you snap a grizzly bear in its most beautiful natural habitat (From a distance of course, with a telephoto lens :o)! ) For all nature lovers there is no greater thrill than crossing the Continental Divide and in one moment seeing the phenomenal change from the West to East in foliage, rock formations/ tree line change in the 10,000 foot mountain peaks. All of this surrounded by turquoise lakes clear as crystal ---it takes your breath away. Do consider visiting Canada, our good neighbor's to the North! You can even take a ferry from the Goat Haunt in Glacier Park to Canada's Waterton's International Peace Park------look into it for a special experience!
Don't forget whitewater rafting on the forks of the Flathead River and the fishing in abundance in the areas lakes/rivers.
In Whitefish itself, you can enjoy the Big Mountain Summer Resort that includes all the hiking and biking one could ask for with the most unbelievable views anywhere.
My home is an all season retreat from the hustle and bustle of the modern world but chock full of amenities to make it your home away from home for sure.
In any season with all the athleticism going on, the town of Whitefish boasts some of the best restaurants anywhere to maintain your energy needs!! You have your choice of local cuisine or a variety of ethnic /cultural cuisines including the 5 star restaurant at Kandahar Lodge, given rave reviews by the Wine Spectator Magazine! If you love Italian, go to Mambo's and expect perfection!
Also to note, when you arrive at Glacier International Airport, tired from your flight but ready to vacation, there is no long drive to my home. My house is only ten minutes from Glacier International Airport and a million miles away from the stressors of everyday life!
The entire home and three level deck that looks over the lake and the Columbian Mountain Range. Use of the 15-20 person BBQ also on the first level of the deck
The circular drive is large and it can accomodate an RV (or two)

Other things to note
If you are worried about the large security deposit, don't be. I have never yet withheld a deposit, BUT since this is my private home, I do request a large deposit , just in case a guest doesn't treat my home with the care they would treat their own. Haven't had a guest yet that was harmful to the home, thank you Airbnb guests!!
The House Rules for Glacier Country/Gateway to Canada are on the Dining Room table are to assist you in making your stay as pleasant as possible. They give you tips on the use of appliances, when the trash goes out, easy use of the gas fireplace, etc.
NO SKI EQUIPMENT IN THE HOUSE/ ANY DAMAGE TO FLOORS/ETC will be addressed .
NO SMOKING!! I cannot emphasize this enough. Deposit will be forfeited for smoking.
NO PETS! As much as I love animals, it is not courteous to subject those visitors coming after you to physical allergies from our dear fuzzy ones.
I do expect responsible behavior in my personal home. The home is furnished with glass coffee tables and things precious to me. I have never yet had to address damage yet or hold back deposits----THANK Y0U MY GUESTS- but don't be the first folks to behave unwisely in another's home. The owner is not responsible for any injuries, accidents or illness while the premises are being occupied. The house is fully examined after each group has left. I haven't had any problems yet---let's keep it that way!! All deposits have always been fully refunded thus far except one, so just make sure you take nothing from the home, including linens, books, videos, dvd's, etc., and leave the keys on the dining room table as you leave. (or in the lockbox.) With re: to the children--I have had successful guests in my home re: children. However, the parents must be in attendance of the children at all times to assure their safety (esp. to point out the stairs to different levels) and that no child is allowed to climb onto furniture in a damaging way to the furniture, nor "play the drums" or slap the furniture as several tables are glass. For their safety and my furniture to not be damaged.
Thankyou ever so much to treat my home as if it was yours! Evelyn

YOU MUST TAKE OUT THE TRASH ON THURSDAY MORNINGS IF YOU ARE IN MY HOME ON THURSDAYS, EVEN AND ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU LEAVE ON A THURSDAY.
I am a nurse who has enjoyed traveling all over the country; but I fell in love with Northwestern Montana, and bought a home near Glacier National Park. I also found that I love the Pacific Coast, and live in Palo Alto when working, and love the dramatic change in scenery when I take off for my lovely home in Whitefish, Montana----the best of both worlds!!
